To say that these two texts refer to the same group is to ignore the inspired words, and the voice of the Holy Spirit who is trying to tell us an important truth through them. 

It is in fact, listening to men!!

It was not the choice of the Son of God for His people to be a nation or a church.  However, when they did take on both of those roles He taught them how to live in those conditions. 


Adam did not "fall". 1 Timothy 2:13-4. It was his deliberate choice to separate from his God and join with his wife in her "death". It was a loving Saviour who then offered them a way out. It was a loving God who stopped them from dying "that day" and gave them a chance to practice Christianity. It is He who says, "Why will you die?" to us. Ezekiel 18:31.

So, the difference between fornication (which is a sexual union of two who do not have any long-term ambitions), and adultery (where the commitment of marriage has been made, but then broken), is a complete picture of what the great controversy is all about.  The Son of God is looking for a “bride” who will not break her vows no matter how strongly she is tempted.  This will be proved in what is called “Jacob’s Trouble”.  This “bride” will be made up of human creatures who have seen this and remained true to Him from the beginning of their conversion.  Through a union with the Son of God (the exchange of hearts), humans will be in a different position to all the other creatures.

So we can see from these verses that no matter how many Jews there are in the modern land of Israel, Old Jerusalem can never be built up as God’s city. Not until all spiritual Israel are gathered together in the NEW Jerusalem can the promises given to Abraham be fulfilled.


A system of wholesale animal killings was never God's intention. He intended one animal per person once in a lifetime. However, when faced with a demand from His people He instituted the ceremonial offerings to teach vital lessons which His people needed. As soon as practicable He did away with it and instituted "Christianity". See Jeremiah 7:21-28.

There are three main reasons for animal sacrifices.

One of these was to show that the offerer believed that the Son of God had already died to save him from internal sin, and that he himself was pictured as being "dead" with Him. Thus the whole of the gospel was shown in the simple act of burning the body of an animal without its skin.

The second of these was to show that the offerer believed that the Son of God would forgive him or her for any and every action of sin which they repented of. Thus the whole of the sanctification of the gospel was shown in the simple act of killing an animal after confessing the action of sin onto its head, and watching the priest eat some of its flesh. In this way they "fulfilled all righteousness". Matthew 3:15.

Righteousness "by faith". This much abused phrase simply means that the follower of God does the right thing by faith in His word. "Righteousness" is defined as "right-doing" (Deuteronomy 6:24-25; Acts 10:34-35; etc.)

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.

In the times of the tabernacle and temple it was shown by observing the rituals with faith in Christ's word as a foundation. Today it is shown by baptism and the Lord's supper with faith in Christ's word as the foundation.

The third of these was to show that the offerer believed that the Son of God would not only exchange lives with him, and then forgive him or her for any and every action of sin which they repented of, but also totally remove THE RESULT of their sins (death) from them and place them on Satan. 1 Corinthians 15:26.

Thus the final act of the gospel was shown by the simple act of watching the high priest separate the two goats, and then following him "by faith" as he went into the building (they couldn't see or hear him in there) to pick up the "deaths" there recorded. If they were watching carefully they would see the "hands" of their mediator on the head of the scapegoat, but for many of them it would be his return in full uniform which told them it was all over.

Animals in the new world:  Oct 2010

In the new world, man, in the form of the redeemed, will be restored to his lost governorship, and the lower order of beings will again recognize his sway; the fierce will become gentle, and the timid trustful. 

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.  And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox . . . They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain”, says the LORD.  Isaiah 11:6-9.

Therefore there is every reason to believe that other creatures that have lived on earth, and which have also looked to the LORD for their redemption, will be there for God loves animals as much as we do!

Ark of the Covenant:  May 2019

The ark in Moses’ tabernacle and Solomon’s temple was an earthly picture of the original one in the heavenly temple, the literal throne of God!   That one could move about freely in the universe being carried by four heavenly beings, transporting either God the Chairperson or God the Saviour in a physical picture for all the universe to see, and so this one was made portable too.

Even when it was unoccupied, the earthly ark carried with it what I must call an “aura” (like residual electricity) for want of a better word, and this was dangerous to humans, so God the Saviour had given instructions on how to handle it when He was not present.  Anything different could cause death to one who knew (or should have known) the need of the protection of the LORD, but those who were ignorant of such advice could do more, as in the case of the Philistines. [1 Samuel chapters 4, 5 and 6.]

The verses in this article show us that no one other than an especially blessed priest or Levite could handle such a dangerous (holy) object, which is why it is still hidden!!

Ashes of a red heifer:  Sep 2010

The opinion is widely held that the sacrifices and offerings of the Hebrews possess no significance for Christians, and can be of no interest to them.  This opinion is without foundation.  It is true that the physical ceremonies of the Mosaic law are not now to be observed; but, when rightly understood, they are seen to be all aglow with sacred and important truths.  These rites, appointed by the LORD Himself, were like so many beacons to light up the path of God's ancient people, and to direct their minds to the great sacrifice to be offered for the sins of men.  Viewed in the light of the cross, they contain most precious lessons for the people of God today.  

Our Father not only wants us to use the means He has entrusted to us for His glory, but He desires us to make a consecration of ourselves to His cause.  After our “tent” has been sprinkled with the hyssop, over the door we could write:

“I am not my own; LORD, I am Yours”.  This is how it should be with those who profess to being cleansed by the “ashes” of Christ. 

They are efficacious, but they need to be applied often.

In this we have a picture of Christ in His own spotless righteousness, after shedding His precious blood, entering into the holy place to cleanse, not just the heavenly sanctuary, but also the sanctuary of the bodies of His people. And there the "crimson current" was brought into the service of reconciling man to God. Some may look upon this slaying of the heifer as a meaningless ceremony, but it was done by the command of God and bears a deep significance that has not lost its application to the present time.

All who came in contact with death in any way were considered ceremonially unclean. This was to forcibly impress the minds of the Hebrews with the fact that death came as a consequence of sin and therefore is a representative of sin. But the ashes are there to remove that consequence and allow the last generation of Christians to be translated.

This glorious Being loves us and took upon Himself the form of a servant, that He might show us how He suffers and dies in our behalf. Jesus might have remained at His Father's right hand, wearing His kingly crown and royal robes, but He chose to exchange all the riches, honour, and glory of heaven for the poverty of humanity, and His station of high command for the horrors of Gethsemane and the humiliation and agony of Calvary. He became a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, that by His baptism of suffering and blood He might show that He could purify and redeem a guilty world. "Lo, I come," was the joyful assent, "to do Your will, O My God". Hebrews 10:7.

We are taught by this ritual that the sacrifice of Son of God does work, but it needs to be applied continually after the initial contact. He not only wants us to use the means He has entrusted to us for His glory, but He desires us to make a consecration of ourselves to His cause. In practical terms this ritual shows that if we have become selfish and are withholding from the LORD that which we should cheerfully give to His service, then we need the ashes of sprinkling thoroughly applied, re-consecrating us and all our possessions to God. We need to be reminded of what He has done for us; we need even the "cold" ashes to revive us!

We should watch for the first dimming of our light, the first neglect of prayer, the first symptom of spiritual slumber. It is "He that endures to the end [who] shall be saved". It is by the constant exercise of faith and love that believers are made to shine as lights in the world. We are making but poor preparation for the Master's coming if we are serving mammon while professedly serving God. When He appears, we must then present to Him the talents that we have buried in the earth, talents neglected, abused, misused – a divided love.

Daniel 2:

20 Daniel answered and said, “Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: 21 and He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: 22 He reveals the deep and secret things: He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.

23 “I thank You, and praise You, O You God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have made known to me now what we desired of You: for You have now made known to us the king's matter.”

God does have control over all the "higher powers", but He works through natural laws to direct them.  He set up king Saul and promised that if he obeyed Him then his rule would be great.  When he disobeyed God chose David in  his place.  But He did not depose Saul.  Saul committed suicide ten years later and then it was that David took over.  David had opportunities to kill Saul but refused on the ground that God would do it in  His own good time.   See_1samuel_24:4-7 for an example.

It is in this way that we should see God as the "setter up" and "remover" of authorities.  Because of this we should always obey them in civil matters.  Religious affairs belong only to God.


Babylon is not the friend of God. It is a name used for the capital and country of the group who have rebelled against God and who have caused great suffering to His followers. Just as Jerusalem and Judea represent the good guys, so Babylon and Chaldea represent the bad guys. The problem is to know in which city or country we dwell, for they sing the same hymns, and say the same prayers to what appears to be the same God. They even use the same Book but see it in a different light, for the words in it appear to justify their use of force.

When they had the Jews in their claws they even wanted them to sing their religious songs to them!

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, "Sing us one of the songs of Zion."

How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

What is the difference?

The belief that it is OK to use force in religion, for the Lamb of God NEVER EVER uses force to get His followers to stay at His side. Like the good shepherd He is, He leads His sheep and they follow for they know His voice and love and trust Him.

While Christians go about doing their own thing, they are more on Satan's side than God's, and the success of Babylon is assured for it thrives where loyalties are mixed. When we learn to use God's weapons in God's way then the truth will win out and the end will come. In the meantime, Jesus is "expecting", or waiting, for us to make up our minds so strongly that we will never be moved from that decision again. Hebrews 10:9-14. So it's up to you and me!

This [present] state of things is not what the devil would like, of course, for he would rather have a head that persecutes the people of God.  However, although he has great powers of persuasion, he cannot always make mankind do his bidding, and so he works as well as he can today.  But his plan and desire is to change soon to another religious head which he will use as a springboard to achieve his real goal – the WHOLE world following his way deliberately, if not consciously.

Which is why it is written:

Revelation 17:10-11:

And there are seven kings [kingdoms of the beast]: five are fallen, and one is, and the other [the Protestant world] is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space [just a while].  And [then] the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth [head], and is of [the same character as] the seven, and goes [leads them all] into perdition.   

 Revelation 13:8-9:

“And [but first] all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him [Satan, through all the religions in the world], whose names are not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  If any man have an ear, let him hear”.

The query relates specifically to the United States of America, so we need to come back to that nation.  It is a grave mistake to call it a Christian nation, as many among us have done.  It was NEVER established as a religious nation for any religion, in fact, it was carefully set up as a disestablished one!

And that is what the horns represented – small nubs (no king and no pope) with no political power. 

The first amendment to the original constitution of the United States of America (December 15, 1792) specifically says that the Federal government was not to favour any one religion above another, but to ensure that all worshippers of every kind had the freedom to follow their consciences.  

The Constitution of the United States of America was carefully written in 1776 by earnest Christians who knew that separation of religion and state was the only way to go.  Therefore they made the first amendment in 1792 regarding that very point. (It was not till ten years after that (i.e. 1802) the words “so building a wall of separation between church and state” were penned, and that was in a private letter.[3]  But those words imply a “Christian” connection, for other religions do not have “churches” and so the phrase has been the cause of confusion ever since!!

Thus we can see that the founding fathers of the United States wanted a nation which would harbour all religions and allow the free and full expression of all of them, without fear or favour.  Having recently escaped from the horrors of Europe and its sectarian views, and knowing that having an established religion leads inevitably to fierce persecution of dissenters (even to the death penalty for having differing views), they wisely chose to establish a state without a king or a religious head [the two stubs]. 

(Yet every individual State in the United States does have what are called “blue [religious] laws”, some of which call for the death penalty.)

Therefore to say or think that the United States of America is a Christian nation,

a lamb, or a lamb which will change itself (or be changed) into a dragon, is to ignore the fact that God says it is already a “dragon”, and always has been. 

And we don’t believe in evolution, or do we?

It is this new image of the beast that will require worship on Sunday and eventually pass the death decree on the dissenters.

But because the beast is best described by its heads, we need to see that the present “head” or “controller” of the world (the 6th), will need to give way to the 7th (radical Protestantism) which will then shortly pass its mantle on to the 8th head, which is the combined forces of the devil, religions and states, all over the world – Catholicism, Protestantism and Spiritualism!!    

Then the horns will be in control!

Although the earthly sanctuary/temple does not exist any more, and the heavenly one is beyond our physical reach, we can "by faith" (in our imagination based on the word of God) trace the footsteps of the earthly priests in their daily work, and then those of the high priest on THE "Day of Atonement".

We can learn from what they did as a "shadow" that which our High Priest is doing as a "reality".

John's three baptisms (Matthew 3:11), all of them normal and natural, are expressions of what Christians can expect in their walk with Christ on this earth. After rebirth, as they progress in their understanding and experience so they will grow in grace and prosper in righteousness, eventually becoming those who have gone "on to perfection" and who will be ready and able to meet Jesus at the second advent (if they haven't died as a result of sin's wages!).

Through those words we can see that ONLY the blood of bulls and goats was used as a picture of cleansing us from sins.  The blood of a lamb was used to protect us when we became Christians and this was done wherever we were at the time we asked for rescue from our past sinful lives.  The “normal” transfer of the penalty of sin into the sanctuary (both first and second apartments) was pictured by the blood of the bull (a strong energetic animal representing the Son of God as a Saviour), while the final transfer was depicted by the blood of a sinless goat (a fitting emblem of the Son of God as a King).

Cain presented the bloodless offering because, like a typical Laodicean, he thought he was “rich and increased with goods” of a spiritual nature (Revelation 3:17).  In other words, he thought he was righteous and would not believe the Spirit’s warning that what he was about to do was of no use.  When he realised that God could not accept his offering he got angry.

Cain’s attempt to make an offering of his own choosing spoilt the Son of God’s plan to teach about the exchange of lives which turns a natural man or woman into a Christian, therefore God could not accept it. It also showed that Cain had rejected the offer of salvation and was determined to help himself. Under those conditions, there was nothing that God could do for him. So right at the beginning of the world two classes of humans came into existence – those who would gladly accept the gift of the life of divinity and those who wilfully reject it.

For the latter, "there remains no more sacrifice for sins [God has no more to offer], but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." Hebrews 10:26-27. This of course, is only after the Spirit has made many attempts to get through to the sinner and been repeatedly rejected.

So we see that “The LORD is not slack concerning His promise.” 2 Peter 3:9. He does not forget or neglect His children; but He permits the wicked to reveal their true character, that none who desire to do His will may be deceived concerning them. Again, the righteous are placed in the furnace of affliction, that they themselves may be purified; that their example may convince others of the reality of faith and godliness; and also that their consistent course may condemn the ungodly and unbelieving.

Although God asks us to "come and reason" He also mentions "together". Isaiah 1:18. Only as we work with the Spirit will we come to a correct understanding of what is written. So perennial questions such as these two will eventually all be answered to those who are willing to listen and be told.

Cain married one of his sisters because that was not an illegal action in those days.  We are not told anything of the births of the other children of Adam and Eve because that information is not relevant to the story of how the earthly rebellion began.

The church: Apr 1999

The physical "church" as known today is not something that God wanted. He was presented with it (see Ezekiel 16)  and has worked as well as He can through it, and it is the only one in His sight, but it has no capital "C". Deuteronomy 32:10. It is contaminated by the "tares", which can be a problem to some of its members. Matthew 13:24-30. However, He has it totally under a "Father's" control, (even though many of genuine members of it go astray so often), and is just waiting for their "choice" to follow Him completely. In fact, even if all the physical church members left Him that would not be a great problem.

Romans 3:3-4

For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man [in the church] a liar; as it is written, That You might be justified in Your sayings, and might overcome [be seen to be right] when You are judged.

The reality is that faithful souls are the real "church" and they never get together in the one denomination but are scattered over all of them, and are in all religions. Many are not even in a physical "church". Those who are spiritual brothers and sisters are known by their spirit and their actions, (John 4:23-24) but not until the resurrection will they get together in one big happy family as God intended.

THE church (another look at it): Feb 2009

“The church” as God set it up, is like a family and each “branch” is separate (like a brother or sister).  As in any family, there is a Father in charge, and the siblings are all equal (Matthew 23:8), with, of course, the usual deference to the firstborn, for it is written, “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Sanctify to Me all the firstborn, whatsoever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is Mine”.  Exodus 13:1-2. 

It is good to get together for family meetings and have a discussion on how the LORD is leading.  And while we should have our own opinions, we shall also have a great respect for other’s opinions, while we recognise that there can often be more than one right way of seeing or doing things. 

What we must avoid at all costs is having a “kingly” attitude, and with it a desire to control others in “the church”, for that can only lead to confusion.

The church of God (a further look):  June 2019

“The [visible] church” is not as important as its supporters like to make out and if you have read the chapter in Ezekiel you will know that God never really wanted one, but once given, He has used it to help in His messages to mankind.


1. There are two, and only two, very different spirits operating in this world. Compulsion and love. Luke 9:55.

The only way to distinguish between the two goats is when the LORD’s lot falls on them. The only way for you to distinguish between truth and error is when God tells you.  On your own you cannot “tell the difference between Christ and Satan” and are in danger of being fooled in the last days.

Cleansing the ex-leper:  May 2014

In this chapter we get to see what sin is really like in God’s eyes, and in the eyes of the people of the universe.  We are living in a world which is a “leper colony” to them but we do not see our real condition, and the Spirit uses this disease to try and show it to us. . .

The only solution [apart from the LORD’s healing] for truly infectious diseases was isolation.  And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that has an issue, and whoever is defiled by the dead.  Both male and female shall you put out, without the camp shall you put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.  And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spoke to Moses, so did the children of Israel”. Numbers 5:1-4.

Why was this separation necessary, apart from the quarantine aspect?  Sin is the cause of disease, and proximity to the Son of God who often came to the camp would aggravate the symptoms and the pain, so for their good these folk should be kept away from the physical person of the Son of God.  He was not afraid of them, they needed to be afraid of Him and His glory.


Apparent contradictions are very useful in the Bible because they make the reader stop and think about what he or she has just read. Their purpose is not to confuse but to cause a deeper investigation to take place whereby the Spirit can give a clearer explanation of a truth.

So let us see again the foundation principle of Christian living.

Do not accuse your fellow and do not listen to those who do accuse because their accusations will not be based on correct knowledge.

Remember, to even look at your brother or sister and THINK that he or she should be restrained in even the mildest form, for the benefit of God, for the church, or themselves, is a worse sin than the one which he or she is committing. 

This applies only to offenses against the Ten Commandments, of course, but even with civil disobedience we should be very careful, for we are in the world but not of it.

Leave the “dead” to govern the “dead”.

When we criticise the character of another member of the church, then we come up against the “mote” and the “beam” principle.  That which we do to others, whether it be good or evil, will surely react upon ourselves, in blessing or cursing.  Whatever we give, we shall receive again.

Every one who has been quick to condemn or discourage, will in his own experience be brought over the ground where he has caused others to pass.

It is because men take upon themselves the name of Christ, while in life they deny His character, that Christianity has so little power in the world.

We should be as Aaron and Hur - holding up the arms of our brother - for it was only while they did this that Israel prevailed.  Exodus 17:12.

The return of Christ and the end of the world cannot come if this principle is not an active part of our church life.

“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature”.  Galatians 6:15.

“And you are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power.  

In whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands [the spiritual one], in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with Him in baptism [the spiritual one], wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened [made alive] together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances [the rituals which Moses wrote in a book, Deuteronomy 31:9] that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it”.  Colossians 2:10-12.

The Comings of the LORD  Jun 10

So, although all three of the texts describe a “coming” of the LORD, they deal with three separate and distinct times.  We, of course, need the Holy Spirit’s guidance to be able to tell which is which and when they occur, and He is only too happy to explain if we care to ask and listen. 

Most of these situations occur in couples, but occasionally, like our query texts, there are three of them.  That is to remind us that although most mentions of God in the Bible refer to either the Father or the Son, just occasionally the quiet One, the Holy Spirit is also represented by the word “God”.

Confusing the Tongues (at Babel)Feb 2018  

The confusion of languages was not engineered by the Son of God, but was the result of natural behaviour egged on by rebel angels. He accepts the blame, for He is always endeavouring to lessen the burden of sin without overstepping into the line of accusation.

 In the Bible the motivation behind Babel and its tower has been passed on to Babylon, the spiritual offspring of Babel, which is made up of separate groups of leaders called “clergy”, speaking differently both in speech and meaning, and yet held together by the common bond of Sunday-keeping and a hatred of God’s people, often cleverly camouflaged, or latent in their minds.

So why do we have so many different religions which are not of God’s family?  Because Satan soon realised that he could control men’s minds easier through religion than he could through the state, and so he set up his masterpiece church, called “Babylon” in the Bible, in opposition to the believer’s one, and from it produced “daughters”.  (See Revelation 17:5.)   

But the basic truth is that men like to teach that God saves corporately (or nationally) because they are not saved personally.

This means that we have been changed by the power of God into a new creature by the giving away of our "old man" and the accepting of the gift of a "new man". The result, and evidence of this change, is the desire to be as selfless as Jesus.

The "cup" is a symbol of the experiences of life.  It can be a good one (the liquid); "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" Psalm 23, or a bad one (the dregs); “Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which has drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of His fury; you have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.”  Isaiah  51:17.

The Curse  Jun 2005

The sins of humanity have brought the sure result – decay, deformity, and death. Today the whole world is tainted, corrupted, stricken with mortal disease, the curse. The earth groans in earthquakes and cyclones etc. under the continual transgression of its inhabitants.  As Jesus said, “There shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers [different] places”, so there are, and they are increasing as the sin increases, for, “as it was in the days of Noah” . . . . Matthew 24:7; 37. 

The curse on the earth:   Mar 2006

We should be aware that the "curse" did not come from God, but is the RESULT of Adam's sin.  What God was trying to save him from was the fact that his disobedience would affect all of his solar system, not just himself.  It was impossible to explain this to Adam, but we know today that one small action of man can have far-reaching consequences.  We have learned this by experience.

The daily sacrifice:  Mar 2014

The "daily" burnt offering of the wilderness sanctuary represented the life (not the death) of the Son of God being offered on behalf of His people. By it he pledged Himself to be always available to those who wanted His help in sanctification (not justification), and through the individual burnt offerings He accepted the lives of those who joined Him on the altar. We’ll see more on that in another chapter.

The "daughters" of Babylon are the churches which began life as developments from the "Protesters" of 1529, but which were always looking to the powers of the world as their support just like their "mother" the Roman Catholic church.  Like their mother, when the crunch comes they will enlist that support to force their views on those who walk with the Lamb of God.

Death is something foreign to God’s character and came into this world through a sin instigated by Satan.  God is only a Restorer – Satan is only a destroyer, there is no cross-over between them.  There is a contest going on between them over the salvation of men and women in which Satan is trying to get us to die or be killed before we are saved, and God is repairing all the mistakes we make (as we allow Him) in order to deliver us from death.  The contest appears to be a losing one from God’s side for His people die as frequently as do the devil’s, but He has a special plan which will show the truth at the end of time.  He tells us that, “The LAST ENEMY that shall be destroyed is death”. 1 Corinthians 15:26. 

Then He will resurrect the people from both sides of the argument at two different times to show their individual choices, and the rightness of His word and His actions. It is said, “Your word is true from the beginning: and every one of Your righteous judgments endures for ever”.  Psalm 119:160.

Jesus said:

    Matthew 5:

29 And if your right eye offend [cause you to die] you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell [the grave].

30 And if your right hand offend you, cut it off [by a surgeon], and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell [the grave]

So there is nothing wrong in either way - to want to die in Christ or to live foor Him.  All we need is to do is ask the Spirit which is right for us individually.  It has never been God’s intention that we should die the first death and certainly not the second.  But we will not receive such a gift by our good works.  There is something else at play here and we do well to search and pray that we be given the answer if we wish to be among the 144,000 who will not see death.

Those whom the Lamb shall lead by the fountains of living waters, and from whose eyes He shall wipe away all tears, will be those now receiving the knowledge and understanding revealed in the Bible, the Word of God.  . . .  {7BC 970.8}

We are to copy no human being.  There is no human being wise enough to be our criterion.  We are to look to the man Christ Jesus, who is complete in the perfection of righteousness and holiness.  He is the author and finisher of our faith.  He is the pattern man. 

His experience is the measure of the experience that we are to gain. 

His character is our model.  Let us, then, take our minds off the perplexities and the difficulties of this life, and fix them on Him, that by beholding we may be changed into His likeness.  We may behold Christ to good purpose.  We may safely look to Him; for He is all-wise.  As we look to Him and think of Him, He will be formed within, the hope of glory.  {7BC 970.9}

Death of John the BaptistJul 2002

It was really John’s choice that left him in prison and allowed him to lose his head. The Son of God would willingly have released him, but, not having applied the lesson to his own behaviour, John would soon have found himself in a similar situation again. So the best action on Jesus’ part was to leave him and use his fate as a warning and comfort for those who were to come after him!

The Bible tells us of two “deaths” associated with Christ – one for the Son of God and one for the Son of man.  They are different and yet called by the same name so that we may understand them fully.  He did NOT die the SECOND death at Calvary for that is a permanent death and He was alive again in three days.  So there He died the FIRST death as the Son of man.  He “died” the permanent “death” as the Son of God from the foundation of the world!

Dispensation of the Fullness of Time:  Feb 2012

The “Dispensation of the Fullness of Time” is the name given to the period when all the events of the great controversy on earth are finishing, and the people of God have been resurrected to be with their LORD for the period of a thousand years.  This “rest” period is to be in heaven while all the “repairs” are made to their minds, and it is then continued by a period on earth when the “repairs” are to be made to the earth.  It therefore extends from the beginning of the judging of the saints to the new world.

It is Satan's plan to persuade Christians to use emotion as the ruling power in their lives, and relegate reason to a back seat.  God's way, however, is that reason should direct and emotion follow.  Thus, that which can appear horrifying, may be the sensible way to go.  In this case, Jesus needed to obey His father and allow Himself to be sacrificed at Calvary because through this experience He could reach many who would not be approached in any other way.  Peter's attempt to turn Jesus from His path was really to deny God's way.

Dinosaurs (large lizards) lived before the Flood and were mostly the product of cross-breeding by the people of the day.  Because of their make-up, many of them were rogue animals (rebels) which made for good hunting (like lions and tigers), while others were just good eating.  But they all refused the offer made by the Son of God and therefore perished in the waters of the Flood.

Death of the rebels: Aug 2012

Those who refuse to be saved will be resurrected at the third advent of Christ, and then, true to their natures, they will attempt to conquer the city of New Jerusalem which they will find on earth near them.  But their attempts to do so will only bring them into conflict the power that surrounds the living God and this (which looks like a Lake of Fire) will cause their second deaths.  As they have rejected God's presence in their lives, so they have rejected His life and have chosen death and their action proves this.

Afterwards there will be a NEW earth.


Revelation 22:1-6.

1 And he [my angel guide] showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  2 In the midst of the street [channel] of it, and on either side of the river was there the Tree of Life, [there is a trunk on either side meeting in the middle], which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing [life] of the nations [of the redeemed].

3 And there shall be no more curse [of sin and death]: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it [the city]; and His servants shall serve Him [there]: 4 and they shall see His face; and His name [character] shall be in their foreheads [minds].

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the LORD God gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever [throughout eternity]

6 And he said to me, “These sayings are faithful and true: and the LORD God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show to His servants the things which must shortly be done”.

From these thoughts it should be obvious that “I die daily” does not have anything to do with being made righteous (rebirth), but has everything to do with the growth of the new life.  So to apply them that way is a twisting of the Scriptures which cannot lead to any good.

God destroys, but not as men do.

When He says that He has or will do so, He is telling us of the results of our actions which are determined by the principles which govern the universe. Since He made the principles (laws) He feels morally bound to take the blame. But He CANNOT alter the laws - they are indispensable in the conditions that exist, including the right to free will which we all possess. This inability to change the law is proved by the fact that He cannot just forgive sin, but had to send His Son to pay the penalty of it. Romans 6:23.

Does God co-operate with sinners?  Apr 2004

Because God gives us absolute freedom of choice, He often has to work with us in ways He would rather not.  So long as those things are not vital to salvation He can do this.  In the meantime, He holds out to us the optimum way and tells us that if we fail of following that way there will be consequences.  One of those penalties (results) might be physical death, and if so, He must allow us to go in to that situation and be resurrected into His kingdom later.

Of course, if we are determined to rebel continually against His advice, then He must also allow us to have our own way without His co-operation. This then leads  to being "cut off" from Him.

Jesus gave the order(s) to annihilate and destroy when His people wanted it so, and He could not dissuade them from their purpose.  Then He gave them clearcut commands which were best for all concerned.  Not just for His people, but also for their victims.

The second death in the Lake of Fire is like leprosy.  It is a decomposing of the body as death takes over in the presence of God and the Lamb, something He cannot, in righteousness, prevent.  This is what the Son of God warned Satan about in the Garden of Eden.

Earthly Kingdom's end:  Jan 2020

The earthly kingdom of God has never come to an end, but it has undergone some significant changes.  From every man for himself, to a monarchy, to a governorship and now back to every man and woman for themselves with Him.  

God does not “set” a time by clock or calendar as we would, but by the behaviour of the people.  When the inhabitants of Nineveh changed THEIR BEHAVIOUR then the 40-day prophecy no longer applied.  When the nations were in such a turmoil such as never had happened before, God allowed His Son to assume humanity and give a us two examples which we desperately needed – the first, how to LIVE a Christian life; the second, how to DIE to self and spend our life on others., or remain selfish and perish.  Similarly, when His earthly kingdom reaches a certain position, He will have to allow it to dissolve.

It is not enough to eat what appears to be the word of God if we would have spiritual health.  We must be careful to ascertain that it is indeed “manna” from heaven and not the devisings of possibly well-meaning but misdirected men.  Check with the Author as to the genuineness of that which you hold in your hand before you taste. 

The end of the rebellion  Feb 06

After the rebels have fought their last fight and been dissolved by the fires of change, their atoms will be mingled with atoms of the earth made new, and it is in this way that the redeemed will walk on their ashes.  Because everyone, both saint and sinner, have been able to get what they most wanted, either to live with God or to be always out of His presence, there will be no more sorrow or crying in the universe and all will see that God is exceedingly just.

The parents of Jesus were poor, and dependent upon their daily toil. He was familiar with poverty, self-denial, and going without. This experience was a safeguard to Him. In His industrious life there were no idle moments to invite temptation. No aimless hours opened the way for corrupting associations. So far as possible, He closed the door to the tempter. Neither gain nor pleasure, applause nor censure, could induce Him to consent to a wrong act. He was wise to discern evil, and strong to resist it.  Hebrews 5:14.

Christ was the only sinless one who ever dwelt on earth; yet for nearly thirty years He lived among the wicked inhabitants of Nazareth. This fact is a rebuke to those who think themselves dependent upon place, fortune, or prosperity, in order to live a blameless life. Temptation, poverty, adversity, is the very discipline needed to develop purity and firmness for they will show us what is in us.  On top of that, being taught to understand the “nature of things” by the parents who brought us into the world will give us the “icing on the cake."

The eighth head of the beast:  Dec 2015

The seven heads and ten horns on the beast [i.e. rebellious humanity] throughout history have been representative of Satan’s control of humanity through political and religious organisations, but in the very last days he will want to have direct control over the rebels and therefore he will manifest himself as the eighth head, the totality of rebellion, for in an octave the eighth note is a repetition of the first in a higher scale.

Like all the reformations of the past, the last “loud cry” will be started by one man, a relatively unknown man, who, soon joined by others, will stir those who are loyal in the church into action and then the Son of man will be able to return.  It will start in the church and then spread to others.  At the same time, there will be a great falling away.

This is what it will be like:

I saw some, with strong faith and agonizing cries, pleading with God. Their countenances were pale and marked with deep anxiety, expressive of their internal struggle. Firmness and great earnestness was expressed in their countenances; large drops of perspiration fell from their foreheads . . .

As the praying ones continued their earnest cries, at times a ray of light from Jesus came to them, to encourage their hearts and light up their countenances. {EW 269.1}

Some, I saw, did not participate in this work of agonizing and pleading. They seemed indifferent and careless. They were not resisting the darkness around them, and it shut them in like a thick cloud. The angels of God left these and went to the aid of the earnest, praying ones. I saw angels of God hasten to the assistance of all who were struggling with all their power to resist the evil angels and trying to help themselves by calling upon God with perseverance.  But His angels left those who made no effort to help themselves, and I lost sight of them.  {EW 270.1} 

I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth. Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people.  {EW 270.2} 

I saw that the testimony of the True Witness has not been half heeded. The solemn testimony upon which the destiny of the church hangs has been lightly esteemed, if not entirely disregarded. This testimony must work deep repentance; all who truly receive it will obey it and be purified.  {EW 270.3} 

Said the angel, “List ye!” Soon I heard a voice like many musical instruments all sounding in perfect strains, sweet and harmonious.

It surpassed any music I had ever heard, seeming to be full of mercy, compassion, and elevating, holy joy. It thrilled through my whole being.

Said the angel, “Look ye!” My attention was then turned [back] to the company I had seen, who were mightily shaken. I was shown those whom I had before seen weeping and praying in agony of spirit. The company of guardian angels around them had been doubled, and they were clothed with an armor from their head to their feet. They moved in exact order, like a company of soldiers. Their countenances expressed the severe conflict which they had endured, the agonizing struggle they had passed through. Yet their features, marked with severe internal anguish, now shone with the light and glory of heaven. They had obtained the victory, and it called forth from them the deepest gratitude and holy, sacred joy.  {EW 270.4} 

Elijah - Is he coming back?  Aug 2007

Someone will come in the spirit and power of Elijah.  He will faithfully and lovingly tell it as it is, for he wants his hearers to repent and be saved, not lost.  At the beginning he may be too harsh as the manner of men can be, but he does not have the spirit of the accuser, and as he learns from God he will show more and more of the spirit of a saviour. 

“And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's”.   Obadiah 1:21.

Ecclesiastes 11:7-10

"Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: but if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many.

“All that comes [without this remembrance] is vanity [self-glorification].

“Rejoice, O young man [and woman], in your youth [enjoy it]; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes: but know you, that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

“Therefore remove sorrow [regret] from your heart, and put away evil [wrong actions] from your flesh : for childhood and youth are [often times of] vanity [great selfishness]."

Rather than strive for worldly excellence in education, we should know that the science of redemption is the science of all sciences; that it is the study of the angels and of all the intelligences of the unfallen worlds.  With it will come all the other knowledge.

It is the subject that engages the attention of our Lord and Saviour; even the basic thought that enters into the purpose brooded in the mind of the Infinite God - "kept in silence through times eternal" (Romans 16:25, R.V.). 

This science will be the study of God's redeemed throughout endless ages. This is the highest study in which it is possible for man or woman to engage. As no other study can, it will quicken the mind and uplift the person here and now, and it will occupy our minds as well as God's, for eternity.

The two feet and ten toes have no relationship in fact with the European nations after 476AD, but represent both the secular and religious nations of the entire world in the last days!  As we have always taught, Satan will endeavour to unite both but they will eventually fall apart as it is written.

In passing, the ten horns of Daniel 7:7-8 have three removed completely, “plucked by the roots” by the eleventh horn, so there are really only seven (plus the “little” one) which survived to the dividing of Pagan Rome in 476AD!  They cannot therefore also represent the ten toes of the last days, but they are the nations of divided Pagan Rome, the seven of them.

There is only one true gospel and that teaches that men and women are JUSTIFIED (made new) by a two-pronged system.  There is the removal of the old life and a replacing of it with a new one.  Because the “old” life is considered “dead” in Christ, all the actions of it are pardoned and cleansed from the new-born and placed on Christ our Saviour.  This experience was shown in the Old Testament by the picture forms of circumcision and eating the Passover lamb.  (Exodus 12.)  Anything less than this is a perversion of the truth.

Then the Son of God gets on with the job of keeping His saints [sanctified ones] clean, for it is written, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?  Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation”. Psalm 24:3-5.

“I am the LORD, I change not”.  He was the same in the Old Testament as He is in the New.  We just need to see correctly.  Wherever men came near God while willfully cherishing evil, they were destroyed by their own action.  

 Thus, at the second advent of Christ the wicked shall be consumed “with the Spirit of His mouth [His words]”, and destroyed “with the brightness of His coming [His energy field]”.  2 Thessalonians 2:8.  It is certainly not God’s intention to actively punish anyone.   It is the light of the glory of God, which imparts life to the righteous in the resurrection, which will cause the rebels to kill each other. 

 Of the Lake of Fire it is written: “And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people [the rebels] that have fought against Jerusalem [His people of all ages]; their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.  [Their DNA strands will unravel without His upholding power.]  And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour” [and He will be powerless to stop it!]   Zechariah 14:12-13.

 The same power which resurrects His people will kill those who have rejected Him!  Should He stay away so that rebellious men and women can live longer?  No!  By totally rejecting Him at the Close of Probation they have already commenced destroying each other, and in mercy He now accelerates that process!!

 This is His sacrifice!

This is a representation of a church or an individual from whom God expects a "harvest" of good works. He digs and manures it for a time, but if it fails to produce a crop them He must allow it to be cleared off the ground to make room for another.

"[You] have borne, and had patience, and for My name's sake have laboured, and have not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent". Revelation 2:3-5. Notice that even here Jesus does not threaten destruction as a punishment, but only the removal of the light which is their protection, and that because they have allowed it to go out. See Matthew 25:8. This is what will bring the destruction.

Leviticus 16:21-22

He is a picture of the final generation of Christians at the second coming. What makes him "fit" is nothing special. (Nothing special to Christians, that is.) It is a characteristic of all the saints when they come close to the Son of man that they see their own sinfulness and therefore the greatness of His grace required. However, because of this the last generation will not give up and enter Satan's "prison house" of death, even when God adds to their burden. (THIS is a separate issue). They determine to "follow the Lamb" wherever He leads them and in this way they do not give up and die.

What makes the difference for the fit man is that on that day he is the only one capable of doing the work with the goat – all the others just watch. In literal terms this means that all the other Christians who have lived, including many of those existing just before the second coming, have either given up their faith or died. One group, however, remains to fulfill God's word and be translated without seeing death into His kingdom.

From what we have just read, we should have come to the conclusion that the last days for God’s people on earth just before the Second Coming will be somewhat like (but much more intense and world-wide), as it was during the French Revolution and its Reign of Terror, when aristocrats, religious leaders, and even some of the early influential originators of the Revolution were guillotined while old women knitted and gossiped!

The “disappointment” that we will have to go through then will be even more than that of the disciples at the cross. It will appear that God has lost all in the Great Controversy, and of this we have been fore-warned. 

But the true followers of the LORD will need to be more persistent and determined than those who stood at the foot of the cross if we are to live through it.

Leviticus 16:21-22

The fit man (the last generation of Christians) does what no other Christian can do (they are all dead) at that time (just before the second coming). He cares for the scapegoat (the devil) during the cleansing of the sanctuary and the falling of the seven last plagues, and then leads him into the wilderness (of a forsaken earth) after the high priest (Jesus) has loaded him with the sins of the people.

It is the "fit" man's work to show that Christians using the power of God can stop sinning and live without error or mistake.

The ceremonial offerings were only rituals – types of reality – and not the real things at all. But they can teach us a lot about the realties. After the conversion experience (pass over), there was a three-fold offering which the grateful person could bring – his/her life; his/her goods; his/her thanks. This could be done at any time, with only a few directions on how to do it, or how often, for it is based on the offerer’s desire.

1. There was a complete "burnt" offering.

2. There was a "bloodless" offering given to the priests.

3. There was an offering which showed the "peace" between God and man.

They represent:

1. A merging of lives as in marriage.

2. A promise to use our time, money and goods when required.

3. An opportunity to share with our friends and relations.

A Hebrew man or woman who did these rituals with a spirit of understanding was a Christian (Christ-like person) as much as any man or woman who consciously applies them to their prayers today. As we have seen with Mary’s experience, they can be expressed in other ways as well – for there is more practical religion in a good well cooked meal (or massage) than many realise.

Having covered all these subjects in the last few query answers, we should now be able to appreciate that the records of "deaths" associated with our "daily" confessions are to be dealt with ALL AT THE SAME TIME, a time which is still in the future for those of us who are reading this. And that the records are stored "in the sanctuary" (which is Christ Himself") awaiting that time. Why? Why must God wait?

He is waiting for the outcome of the two "graces". There is a universal "grace" which keeps all humans alive from birth (as much as possible), under which they can have OPPORTUNITIES to choose God’s way. Then there is the other "grace" which enables THOSE WHO HAVE CHOSEN to walk in His ways. We might call the first one "impending salvation grace" and the other "redemption grace", but that is not really important for they are both the gift of God.

The Nephilim were giants, physically, mentally and morally, but they used their power in opposition to God and became His enemies.  Any union of church people and national people (church and state, marriage with unbelievers), at any time, will always be against God’s loving way of dealing with us, because such a coalition believes in forcing their views on others.

The God of the Old Testament is not as first impressions appear to show Him, but is truly a Person whom we can call, “Father” without disrespect as Paul wrote, for both of the Father and the Son are “Father” to us, and neither of Them “punish, hurt, or destroy any one at any time for any reason”.

Heavenly Sacrifices:  Jan 2014

There has been a sanctuary in heaven since the beginning, but it is a living place – not made of dead materials, for it is the enormous area around God where the angels and the people of the universe congregate to listen and talk with Him on special occasions.  Before sin entered the universe, it was the main way and place where God communicated His desires and feeling to His creatures, although it did move around the universe with Him, because it is part of His presence. 

Normally, next to His throne STOOD (or knelt) His Son and the brightest of His creatures (represented by the two cherubim on the ark in the earthly sanctuary) and they often passed on God’s word for Him.  It was not obvious then that they were different from each other, but after His ascension Christ SAT ON THE THRONE because the loyal angels then recognised His position in the Godhead.

However, after the truth was twisted into sin by Lucifer God had a hard time explaining to the angels what had happened to him, and ultimately the universe, so He chose to modify the sanctuary services by introducing the concept of the burnt offering on earth – and so on . . .

And the tokens of His humiliation are His highest honour; through the eternal ages the wounds of Calvary will show forth His praise and declare His power. 


He is the third Person in the group that makes up the God-head. He has the ability to make the spoken word into a reality, and give the Christian the power to live the Christian life. He works now as a Comforter and Teacher because Jesus Christ is no longer the active One on earth. We know little about Him because He prefers to speak of Jesus and the Father. John 16:13-15

The Hour of His judgment: Jun 2009

34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against [the kingdom of] Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 Thus says the LORD of hosts; “Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. 36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds [of strife] from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come” [they’ll be totally scattered].

How does God view homosexualsApr 2010

Regardless of what some well-meaning men and women of today say, homosexuality is NOT acceptable to God because it is the result of an altered gene, or some other plausible reason.  It is a sin like so many other manifestations of selfishness mentioned in the Bible.  The good news is that because it is a sin, it can be forgiven and cleansed by the power of God.



How can we be sure that what we have is the truth of slavation?  When it leads us to love God and be obedient to His commands, and when we love our neighbours as we would like to be loved.  It's that simple!

It's not just a profession, but actions which show love.

HUMANITY, purpose of:

Hebrews 2:6-7. It was God's purpose to replace the rebellious angels with the human family, if they had shown themselves obedient to His every word. This purpose has now been passed on to the Christians who do just that. See 1 John 3:9-18.

Humans and angels: Sep 2005

Angels are a different species of God’s creatures who live on the planet we call "heaven". They are helpers of those less capable than themselves. Humans do not turn into angels after death but forever remain human, a separate species who will live on the earth made new.

From these thoughts it should be obvious that “I die daily” does not have anything to do with being made righteous (rebirth), but has everything to do with the growth of the new life.  So to apply them that way is a twisting of the Scriptures which cannot lead to any good. 


These words do not exist in the Bible together. The word of God knows nothing of such a concept. "Living" soul (Revelation 16:3); "cut off" soul (Genesis 17:14); "sinning" soul (Leviticus 4:2); a soul that "eats" (Leviticus 7:20): yes, these are there. There is even a verse which says, "the soul that sins, it shall die" Ezekiel 18:4. The word "soul" simply means a living person.

"immortal" and "immortality" are reserved for God to have, and humans to seek after. 1 Timothy 1:17; 6:16; and Romans 2:7; 1 Corinthians 15:53-54.

The Inspiration of the Scriptures:  Dec 2006

The Bible is the word of God given to us through intermediaries.  We may trust it if we are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but we should know from personal experience that the Son of God lives and walks with us every day.  This combination, the power of the WORD and the word, will give us victory whenever we really want it. The man-made term “invisible church” was coined to explain the fact that the majority in the geographical church do not behave as Christians should.  This makes it difficult for some to accept the book of James to be divinely inspired, for he claims that Christians should be obvious by their works.  It also allows the multitude of denominations to exist and to be called “Christian” even though they have such divergent beliefs!  It even permits the thought that there are true Christians in the heathen religions, when the message should be, “Come out of her, My People”!  It is true that they are there, and that they will be saved in the resurrection, but they cannot go through “Jacob’s” trouble and be translated if they stay there.

We need to read the Bible with an enquiring mind, and make sure that we connect with EVERY verse that pertains to that subject, and we will find that we have harmony.  But only the Holy Spirit can teach us that.  Or you can just read chapters or books as they are written and ask Him to explain what you are reading.

And we must watch closely how every word fits in the verses.  He will lead us to do that if we allow Him free rein in our mind, not sticking to just what we already know from previous study.  Then we can expect greater light to emerge.

It is in this way that the Bible is infallible.  Not because of the words, but because God the Holy Spirit is there to make it right for us, directly.

We have a great lesson to learn from that record in the Bible.  It discloses a principle we can live by.

God destroys no man.  Everyone who is destroyed will have destroyed himself. 

Everyone who stifles [rejects] the admonitions of conscience is sowing the seeds of unbelief, and these will produce a sure harvest.  By rejecting the first warning from God, Pharaoh of old sowed the seeds of obstinacy, and he reaped [more] obstinacy.  God did not compel him to disbelieve [He tried to do the opposite]. 

The seed of unbelief which he [Pharaoh] sowed produced a harvest of its kind.  Thus his resistance continued, until he looked upon his devastated land, upon the cold, dead form of his first-born, and the first-born of all in his house and of all the families in his kingdom, until the waters of the sea closed over his horses and his chariots and his men of war.  His history is a fearful illustration of the truth of the words that “whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7. 

Did men but realize this, they would be careful what seed they sow.

“Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7.  God destroys no man [but many of His professed followers have].  Every man who is destroyed will destroy himself.  When a man stifles the admonitions of conscience, he sows the seeds of unbelief and these produce a sure harvest [of sins which lead to death.  Romans 6:23] . . .  {OHC 26.4} 

“They would none of my counsel, they despised all my reproof.  Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.  For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.  But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:30-33. {OHC 26.5}

There is so much evidence that you will need to look at the query. Jesus was the Messiah of the Old Testament and lived His life in the New Testament in accordance with the specifications of the Old. More than that, He was the only visible God in those times.

It only when you have grown up spiritually that you will be able to survive as a Christian in the earthly church.  It is not a matter of physical age, for Daniel was a young teenager, as was David when they were thrust into their roles but they had learnt at home, while Paul was a mature man, an associate member of the governing body of the church when he was called.  But it does require a definite preparation and training for the job, and Paul had learnt his at the feet of Gamaliel, for his was to be a special position.  Acts 5:34-40; 22:3.

Justified by faith:  Aug 2009

In the Bible, the word “justified”, which means “just as if we had not sinned”, is used at two different times for an individual.  In the second text of the query, we come to the words, Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law” for we can do nothing about what we have been, and done, since physical birth.  We need a whole new life and this is given freely by our Saviour.

But we also need to keep that new life clean!  Thus it is written:

Psalm 106:3

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that does righteousness at all times.   

1 John 2:29

If you know that He is righteous, you know that every one that does righteousness is born of Him.   

1 John 3:10

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.   

So when we are “born again”, we need to be “doers” and not just “hearers” of our LORD’s desires, and therefore come under the statement which is in the first text, “not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified”.  A simple matter of reading the statements in the right order gives us the truth, and the power. 

Should we keep the OT ceremonies today?  June 2007

Knowing the details of the ceremonies will help in understanding the Christian gospel.  The keeping of them as actual rituals is not at all necessary.

Keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread:  Oct 2006

The “keeping” of the Feast of Unleavened Bread today (1 Corinthians 5:8) means that an organised church should periodically cleanse itself of those who are public sinners and bringing the name of Christianity into disrepute among the heathen.  This should be done only for what outsiders would see as a sin amongst those who claim to be different, and not for “heresy” or differences in doctrine, which are entirely internal matters.

When the love of Christ is in the hearts of the believers then the “leaven” of “malice and wickedness” will not be seen.

Keeping all the Feasts today:  Oct 2017

The feasts and the sabbaths of them were all shadows of their realities, and as such were no longer necessary once the real Lamb of God, and His work in the heavenly sanctuary, became known.  

 There is nothing wrong in studying about them or even in observing them in a spiritual way if you feel so inclined.  But there is no command from the LORD for the New Testament Christians to observe them physically.  In fact, the opposite is true, for any desire to do so which is motivated by the thought that it will give you salvation or the new life is not only wrong, but dangerously close to claiming that righteousness is by your own works!

Should we keep the feasts?  Jun 2018

To keep the feasts as they are described in the Old Testament required animal and flour sacrifices of various sorts and a physical presence at Jerusalem at certain times, all of which illustrated the death (and life) of the Son of God as well as the lives of His followers. 

To observe them as a church today would be to make that sacrifice of no value, for they were all presenters of the future!  And that reality has already happened to two of them (and is continuing to occur) – only the third is yet to come.  The feasts as kept today by their advocates are merely gatherings of believers who have picked and chosen for themselves which rituals to keep, or acknowledge, and which to discard.   



Jesus is the "Son of David" and therefore heir to the throne, naturally through His mother and also legally through her husband. Revelation 19:16.

The kingdom of Heaven  Dec 2002

The kingdom of God on earth is first a spiritual state of being which is experienced by those who have been changed by the Son of God from being "sinners" to being "Christians". This situation cannot be seen by other humans, although it is often guessed at.

Then the kingdom is also a physical organisation (sometimes called the church) which can be recognised because of its distinctive doctrines and rituals, but as it includes many who are "tares" or "professors" it is often considered to be a false system (as the Pharisees saw Christ and His followers).

Only those who have the kingdom in their hearts can really appreciate the value of the external one as a nursery for newly born-again Christians.

Violence: Aug 1998

  • To "take the kingdom of heaven by violence" is to plead our great need and refuse to be turned away even if God seems to take His time in answering our prayer. Jesus taught in a parable that this attitude should be ours today, but ended the story with the sad words, "Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?" Luke 18:1-8.
  • The Lamb's Blood:  Jan 2016

    The idea that the daily lamb burnt offering ritual and its blood had anything to do with our forgiveness and cleansing for sins is not scriptural. 

    If it is applied in that way to the spiritual sacrifice of our LORD then it can only be a very faint shadow, for that experience is fully illustrated by the sin offerings made by various ranks of people as explained in Leviticus chapters 4 and 7.

    Even in those chapters it is only the blood of bulls and/or goats which is finally used except in verse 32 of chapter 4 where a lamb can be used as an alternative offering (but it had to be a FEMALE one),  and a portion of its body was eaten.  Its blood was NOT taken into the sanctuary, but treated as in verse 34.  

    The ONLY blood that entered the sanctuary on a daily basis in regard to forgiveness and cleansing for sins was the blood from the priest’s or the congregation’s bullock and the body of such an offering was burnt OUTSIDE the camp on the rubbish heap.

    The blood from the bull on the Day of Atonement was used as a picture of the whole nation’s relocation of ALL their sins into the second room, and then the blood from the LORD’s goat was for the TRANSFERENCE of the already forgiven sins from the second apartment to the scapegoat.

    To accept that the daily lamb offering was a picture of the ritual of forgiveness is to miss much of the real lesson that the Spirit of God is trying to show us.  It is to misread the Bible and nullify a very important doctrine of Christianity.

    The Lake of Fire - who causes it?  Sep 08

    We don’t “die in an instant” when we sin because God is still desperately trying to keep us alive so we may repent and be cleansed of the "cancer".  However, we may close our probation by turning away permanently, or end our physical lives here by our actions.  This achievement of God's is is called "universal grace" and applies to every living thing in this world from the moment of birth.

    Saving grace is added to the individual when we repent and accept His gift of a new life.    Living grace is then supplied to allow us to overcome temptation and live without sinning.  Or it can be used to cover any action of sin which we (as Christians) repent of and confess.

    Those who refuse saving grace will end up in the "Lake of Fire" and experience the "second" death.

    The LORD says to Satan and his followers:

    “Because you have set your heart as the heart of God [claimed that you were immortal]; behold, therefore I will bring [have to allow] strangers upon you, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness. They shall bring you down to the pit [the grave]”.  Ezekiel 28:6-8 . “I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire [I will have to allow this to happen for you claim that you are equal with God and have rejected My salvation] . . . I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you . . . I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold you . . . You shall be a terror, and never shall you be any more”. Verses 16-19. 

    “Every battle of the warrior [in an earthly war] is with confused noise, and garments rolled in [splattered with] blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire”.  Isaiah 9:5. “The indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and His fury upon all their armies: He has utterly destroyed them, He has delivered them to the slaughter”.  Isaiah 34:2.

    “Upon the wicked He shall rain quick burning coals, fire and brimstone and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup”.  Psalm 11:6, margin.

    It is this way that fire will come down from God out of heaven and by it the earth will be broken up.  The weapons concealed in its depths will be drawn forth.  Devouring flames will burst from every yawning chasm.  The very rocks will be on fire in a nuclear-like fission, for the day has come that shall burn as an oven.  The elements will melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are therein will be burned up.  (Malachi 4:1; 2 Peter 3:10.)  The earth's surface will seem one molten mass—a vast, seething lake of fire.  It is the time of the judgment and perdition of ungodly men—“the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion”.  Isaiah 34:8. 

    It is the day that God cannot prevent – He must appear in His glory to convince the universe – and it is this very appearance which will push the rebels over the edge and make them destroy themselves.

    He says that they will receive their recompense in the earth, not in hell. (Proverbs 11:31.)  They “shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts”.  Malachi 4:1.  Some will be destroyed as in a moment, while others will suffer many days.  All will be punished “according to their deeds” [because they are punished BY their deeds].  Jeremiah 25:14.  Their continual rejections in the past will have so hardened their hearts that they will echo Pharaoh’s cry, “I [don’t want to] know the LORD”. [I don’t want the life of the LORD!]

    The forgiven sins of the righteous having been transferred to Satan, he is made to suffer not only by his own rebellion, but by all the sins which he has caused God's people to commit.  Therefore his experience is to be far greater than that of those whom he has deceived.  After all have perished who fell by his deceptions, he is still to live and suffer on because of his greater burden.  In the cleansing flames the wicked are at last destroyed, root and branch—Satan the root, his followers the branches. 

    The full penalty of the law will have been visited; the demands of justice will have been met; and the people of heaven and earth, beholding, will declare the righteousness of Almighty God. “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, to the LORD our God: for true and righteous are His judgments: for He has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand”.  Revelation 19:1-2.

    Such a sad, sad, day!  One that will take the redeemed some time to get over.

    The Laodicean Condition:  Feb 05

    The term "lukewarm" is applicable to those of us who profess to love the truth for this time, yet are deficient in Christian fervour and devotion because we are not "born again." We dare not give up wholly and run the risk of the unbeliever, yet we are unwilling to die to self and follow out closely the principles of our faith. We are cold and formal, like the nominal churches.

    The words addressed to the Laodicean church describe our present condition perfectly. We are "neither cold nor hot," but "lukewarm". And unless we heed the counsel of the "faithful and true Witness," and zealously repent and obtain "gold tried in the fire," "white raiment," and "eye-salve," He will have to spue us out of His mouth.

    Bulls, goats and ashes:  Aug 2010

    Through those words we can see that ONLY the blood of bulls and goats was used as a picture of cleansing us from sins.  The blood of a lamb was used to protect us when we became Christians and this was done wherever we were at the time we asked for rescue from our past sinful lives.  The “normal” transfer of the penalty of sin into the sanctuary (both first and second apartments) was pictured by the blood of the bull (a strong energetic animal representing the Son of God as a Saviour), while the final transfer was depicted by the blood of a sinless goat (a fitting emblem of the Son of God as a King).

    No attempt is being made here to set dates for the suggested events of the future, nor are the actions described necessarily exactly those that will happen.  All that this article can be sure of is that as the Roman civilisation fell apart in the centuries after the event of Calvary, so our civilisation is coming under the same sort of pressure, but within a much shorter timescale. 


    As a result, we can look forward soon to a radical change in our Western political systems, our democracy, and then a move towards worldwide religious control as of old, an “image (copy) of the first beast! 


    The burnt offerings: Aug 2014

    The “burnt” offering, the first of seven different offerings, shows us HOW to come into the presence of our Redeemer and Saviour.

    So today, we have a choice of how we shall approach our LORD and Redeemer, as religionists worshipping an almighty God, or as a “Husband” whom we love to be with.  But whichever way we choose, we must be sincere and completely dependent as a “wife” should be.  But we must come personally, and not through another on our behalf.

    A lateral thought:

    The presence of the LORD in the earthly tabernacle in the days of Moses is an indicator to us that He did not BEGIN His priestly ministry after the crucifixion, but went back to CONTINUE it in the sight of the angels.  In the reality, He can do that work from anywhere and at any time, for He IS the tabernacle of the LORD and all the services of the sanctuary are fulfilled in Him!  “And you are complete in Him, which is the Head of all principality and power: in whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised Him from the dead.  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened [spiritually resurrected] together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses . . .” Colossians 2:10-13.

    The Little SeasonSep 2012

    That period called “the little season” in Revelation 20:3 will be 100 years long, and is the time when Satan will bring about his final delusion.  He will persuade all the rejecters of God’s mercy that they can attack and overcome the new Jerusalem which he will claim is harbouring the anti-christ, and in this way they will come to possess the earth.  But, like all his other plans, it will fail because of the weakness which is inherent in all unsaved creatures – the desire to be “king” and control others will not allow them to subjugate themselves to any other person for any length of time.  That’s when they will fight against each other.

    The little season:  Feb 2017

    The “little season” is the time required for the preparation of weapons and the training of the rejecters so that they operate as a well-disciplined army and not as a mob.  It will be 100 years long.  In that period the youngest rebel will grow up to be an adult, so that no child will perish in the Lake of Fire, or enter the new world.

    This chapter shows us so well that the ability to perform or not to perform the good deeds which we desire, tells us whether or not we are Christians.

    Although meat eating is not prohibited in the Bible, it is not recommended.  Constant eating causes much sickness, dulls the mind, and shortens life dramatically, not to mention what it does to the animal, our fellow-creature. 

    Even though Christ partook of the Passover lamb (once a year!); ate some boiled fish and honeycomb once to show that He was a living being and not a ghost (Luke 24:36-43); and supplied fish for the hungry fishermen after His resurrection (another one-off event, see John 21:5-14), flesh food is not a good choice in our diet.

    "Wherefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like to His brethren."

    "Behoved" means:-

    "He had to" (NKJ); "it was imperative that" (J B Phillips); He MUST...

    In ALL things like who? It does not say "like all humans", but "like unto His brethren". His brethren are defined in the texts below as those who have God as their Father, and also as those who are "the seed" of Abraham.

    Hebrews 2:10-18

    For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one [origin, or Father]: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,...

    Now we come to the crux of the question. If He did NOT have evil "hereditary corruption", "propensities or inclinations", which humans have, then why do we?

    The short answer is:- Christians do not have them either!!!

    Only "sinners" have them.

    Mark on Cain: Sep 1997

    This "mark" is the mark of protection applied by a loving Saviour to those who are "at enmity"against Him. It's purpose is to ward off the unwanted attentions and persecutions of His professed followers. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, and this is available until they kill themselves in some way, either by suicide or by retaliation. John 3:16.

    Mark of the beast:  Feb 2007

    The mark of the beast is the use of civil power by religious people to persecute and kill those who disagree with them.  It is signified by choosing to worship on a day that has no foundation in the Bible.  God warns against such an action because it will mean that those who do so will lose their chance of eternal life.

    The meaning of Passover through the rituals:  Feb 2016

    We can be a sinning Christian, or even a good moral sinner, but like day and night, light and darkness, they CANNOT control together in the one body.  Therefore we have statements like these in the Bible: “Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner”.  Proverbs 11:31. “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”  1 Peter 4:18. 

    And this is something that should underlie our whole gospel.  If we teach that we have two controlling natures (husbands) as a Christian we have missed the base of the Passover, which is circumcision.  We do have a spiritual nature and a physical one, but this doctrine is not referring to that coupling, but to the fact that only one spiritual power can live in us at any one time.

     So what causes the Christian to sin?  Nothing, except his or her own choice!!  For God (the divine nature) will not force His will on us, and the old nature is gone.  Any other excuse is a cop-out!   And this understanding should be reflected in our prayers!!!

    Meaning of the sacrifices  Mar 2019

    We have had about 2,000 years since the last animal sacrifice and the Godhead expects us to have learned from the rituals of the Hebrews and Jews, and to have added to them clearer ideas from the events of Gethsemane and Calvary.  

     When we understand the spiritual meaning, it is not so important to observe the earthly ceremonials which is why we no longer obey them physically, although their rituals are still full of instruction for us. But again, sadly, the picture has become the reality in many minds, and the greater picture has not even been seen by many, and animal flesh has become just part of the daily diet even among those professing Christianity. 

     One day the true depths of the gospel will be sought for by anxious Christians and things will change dramatically.

    Meat EatingDec 1999

    God, the LORD God, gave Noah permission to eat the flesh of animals because of his request, but hoped that his love for his "neighbour" would triumph over his appetite. Genesis 9:3-4.

    Meat eating versus vegetarianism: Jun 2000

    Whether we eat flesh or not has nothing to do with religion. Romans 14:17. It is a matter of personal choice, so long as we keep in mind that God wants us to glorify His ways. 1 Corinthians 10:31.

    Those who want to stay healthy and aware of what the Spirit is trying to tell them will find that meat eating tends to clog the mind as well as the body, and reason becomes harder to use. And that there are certain types of flesh we should not eat for health reasons.

    Eating flesh also requires that a creature of God must die, and if this is done solely to satisfy a taste, that is not a good reason for Christians, for God has no favourites. All His creatures are important to Him.

    The time of Christ's coming, His anointing by the Holy Spirit, His death, and the giving of the gospel to the Gentiles, were definitely pointed out.  It was the privilege of the Jewish people to understand these prophecies, and to recognize their fulfilment in the mission of Jesus.  Christ urged upon His disciples the importance of prophetic study.  Referring to the prophecy given to Daniel in regard to their time, He said, “Whoso reads, let him understand.” Matthew 24:15.  After His resurrection He explained to the disciples in “all the prophets” “the things concerning Himself.” Luke 24:27.  The Saviour had spoken through all the prophets.  “The Spirit of Christ which was in them” “testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.” 1 Peter 1:11. 

    But all this was only a small part of the main prophecy!

    Christ’s ministry, His death on the cross, and the final call to the Jews by the disciples, are identified here only to explain what the 2,300 years prophecy was about!  When we deduct 490 years from the 2,300 years we end up with 1,810 years. Thus the time of the cleansing, or restoring of the sanctuary to its rightful place, when calculated by adding 1810 to 34AD gives us a date of 1844AD.

    What was to happen then was so important that Christ, when explaining it to Daniel, used His own agonising experience as the Son of man to point to it. 

    The mini resurrection:  May 2017

    There have been many solo resurrections in the history of the Bible, plus a mini one at Christ’s own resurrection at the first advent. 

    He has also promised that there will be another mini one at His second advent.


    Mourning for the deadJan 2004

    Leviticus 21:

    1 And the LORD said to Moses, Speak to the priests the sons of Aaron [the ordinary priests/Christians], and say to them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people [none are to go into public mourning for those who have died].

    Why should not the priests mourn for the dead? Because death is the wages, or result, of sin (Romans 6:23) and those who die show that they have clung to some sinful way and are willing to be separated from God for a time. It does NOT always mean that they are lost (there is a resurrection for the righteous), but it does mean that they have rejected the sanctification of God in some way. Only He knows the full extent of their rejection, but the priests were expected to illustrate the Son of God’s concern at the dead one’s action, and confirm that nothing further could be done for them until the judgment. It is written, "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." Hebrews 9:27.

    Saint or sinner?

    We may KNOW who we are by what we do!!! We who were once sinners by internal nature are now Christians by re-creation, and must reject God's advice and power if we want to sin. Those who keep "falling" (that's their word for it, for Adam "jumped"), and who make excuses for their behaviour, are showing that they have no power of choice.

    Now to Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.

    New Elijah:  Feb 2015

    Elijah is coming to teach us that He IS God, not another God.  “Hear, O Israel; The LORD our God is one LORD”.

    That number 666!  Dec 09

    The “number” of the image beast (666) is a symbol which tells us that the image is the totality of evil!  When everyone in the world openly bows to this system of a religion controlling the state and persecuting nonconformists to the death, the great conflict between Christ and Satan will come to an end.  No more proof of the evil of sin will be needed.  Those who, after the light regarding God's law comes to them, continue to disobey and exalt human laws above the law of God in the great crisis before us, will receive the mark of the dragon beast (Revelation 12:9), and the number of his name.  But until they are convicted of the truth, and deliberately trample upon the evidence given to enlighten them, the LORD will not have to withdraw His grace from them.  He will fight for them to the bitter end!

    Overview of The Revelation:  Jan 2010

    The Revelation is made up of 7’s – some operating within others.  There are seven letters to seven churches, and seven seals on the book.  There are seven angels with seven messages, seven angels with seven trumpets of war, and seven angels with seven plagues. 

    There is one beast (the dragon) with seven political heads and ten religious horns, and ten crowns which move about, and even disappear for a time!   

    There is one Lamb with four other creatures, who have the faces of a lion, an ox, a man and a cherub (angel) to describe their characters.  An earlier prophet saw a representation of some “living creatures” similar to the redeemed.  They were carrying the throne of the Son of God in his vision, and one of their faces sometimes swapped from an ox to a cherub.

    Ezekiel 10:

    14   And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub/ox, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle . . .  20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. 21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. 22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.

    There are two women, one in white and one in scarlet.

    Through these symbolic representations God showed His people the major events to come over two thousand years of Christian activity. 

    Then He compresses all the events into one generation for the last days!

    “By reading and searching out scripture references, you will see the chain of truth, and will see new beauties in the word of God”.  The purpose of comparing Scripture with Scripture is to illuminate and EXPAND the original, not to reject it.  ALL THE TEXTS must fit into a harmonious whole.

    The great controversy began over the question of whether God is a "Boss" or a "Father." Jesus came to this world to acquaint us with the fact that He considers Him to be a "Father" and not some awesome high and mighty "God Boss." We can help Him in settling the question by our behaviour and attitude, and one day all will bow before the Father and acknowledge the truth.

    The answer to the question raised by the evolutionist seems to be the one he himself supplied. The effects of the Flood upon the earth's surface isolated many groups of animals and they soon developed into the diverse creatures found far from the site of the ark's landing, such as those found in Australia. Others were adept at ranging over the whole world and they still do. Our Creator supplied enough capability of variation within the gene structure of each "kind" at their original creation that they can produce new "species" for those who want them.

    The period of Papal supremacy (“a time, and times, and the dividing of times” Daniel 7:25), appears in numerous places in various forms in the Bible.  Historic Adventism has taken this to mean the 1,260 years in Europe from 538 – 1798AD and applied it accordingly wherever the term, or its equivalent, has appeared, e.g.

    “time, times and half a time” Daniel 12:7; Revelation 12:14;  

    “a thousand two hundred and threescore days”  Revelation 12:6; 

    “forty-two months” Revelation 11:2; 13:5.

    But why has the Spirit caused it to be written in these different ways?

    The Passover (which is really the “pass over”), commemorates the escape from the slavery of Egypt and is a picture of the believer’s escape from the bondage and death of sin.  Because it was the first of all the ceremonies required by the sanctuary service, and a picture of the new birth, Satan has taken a delight in either getting men to ignore it altogether, or to make it a relatively unimportant ritual outside of the courtyard.  To take its place in the gospel he has substituted as a SIN offering, the daily or continual BURNT offering of the lamb on the brass altar, which really represented the DEDICATION of the already attained NEW life!

    If we would teach the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth of the passover rituals, then we need to explain circumcision and the rebirth together.  Which comes first? 

    And we need to be clear that there are two controlling natures which can operate in humanity, but only one in each individual – one is a slave master and the other is chosen willingly.  But we cannot serve two masters – it must be one or the other.  Matthew 6:24.

    The Pass Over was instituted the night Israel left Egypt and was a symbol of becoming a Christian.  Yet 40 years later, the whole ritual concerning it was changed by a "God who changeth not"!

    It should now be clear that the Passover lamb (“which takes away the sin of the world”, John 1:29), and which occurred only once a year, and the lamb which was burning on the brass altar every day and all day and night, were two very different pictures of the real work of the Lamb of God. 

    In fact, the voluntary “burnt offering” represented the dedication of the new life – (the rededication of the reborn!) and it required all the possessions of the offerer to be used or not as the LORD decided.  But the daily burnt offering represented first of all the offering of the Son of God’s life to sanctify the people, and secondly, the dedication of the nation to Him.

    So it is written of the picture:

    “But God commends [shows] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ “died” for us [as did the Son of God].  Much more then, being now JUSTIFIED by His blood [“death”], we shall be saved from wrath [and temptation] through Him.  For if, when we were enemies [rebels], we were reconciled to God by the “death” of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our LORD Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the [an] atonement”.  Romans 5:8-11.

    So what does the Passover mean to us today? 

    And is it important that we read all these boring details? 

    If our leaders demonstrate over and over again that they have not read for themselves any of this information from the LORD, then how much more misinformation are they giving us?  Only as YOU read it ALL will you know.  Only as you read under the guidance of the Spirit will you know how important each word is.

    Can you be saved without knowing this?  Of course, for many have already, for that depends on the “wedding”, not our knowledge.  But will you be able to stand in the last days without knowing it?  I think not.  We will need to be living by EVERY word if we want Him to sustain us through the greatest persecution His people have ever faced.  We will need to KNOW His promises if we are to stand through the great disappointment which is to come. 

    And through the great time of silence.

    The meaning of Passover through the rituals:  Feb 2016

    We can be a sinning Christian, or even a good moral sinner, but like day and night, light and darkness, they CANNOT control together in the one body.  Therefore we have statements like these in the Bible: “Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner”.  Proverbs 11:31. “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”  1 Peter 4:18. 

    And this is something that should underlie our whole gospel.  If we teach that we have two controlling natures (husbands) as a Christian we have missed the base of the Passover, which is circumcision.  We do have a spiritual nature and a physical one, but this doctrine is not referring to that coupling, but to the fact that only one spiritual power can live in us at any one time.

     So what causes the Christian to sin?  Nothing, except his or her own choice!!  For God (the divine nature) will not force His will on us, and the old nature is gone.  Any other excuse is a cop-out!   And this understanding should be reflected in our prayers!!!

    We do not have dual citizenship.  We are only “. . .  ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be you reconciled to God.”  2 Corinthians 5:20.  So although we may take advantage of worldly exemptions in the civil realm, we may only appeal to God when it comes to religion.

    The difference between the true and the false gospel is in the method of payment!

    Is it just a legal transaction done on the cross, or is a practical experience which must happen to each one of us individually while we are alive?

    In the true gospel it is taught that Christ “pays” for the removal of our sinmaster by taking it into Himself and replacing it with a portion of His Life at the moment we accept salvation.

    His “currency” is “a Life for a life”.  

     The false system accepts human works, money, or explanations and then says that the sinmaster is covered and we remain sinners, because it is not removed.

    PERFECTION:(as God sees it) Jul 97

    Perfection is an attitude of mind reached by the "temple" builder after laying six "foundation stones".

    Perfection 2: Feb 2003

    “Perfection” then, is the gift of God.   It is offered to us and if we accept it we call it “conversion” or “rebirth”.  Then we are a “perfect” baby, new born and growing.   At any stage in our growth God may pronounce us still “perfect”, or He may say that we have a problem similar to a sickness, which He calls “sin”.   When that sickness is cured  we can again be recognised as “perfect”.   Because perfection is in the eye of God and not our fellow man, we should just accept the fact that it is possible and leave the rest to Him.

    22 And when He had removed him [king Saul], He raised up to them David to be their king; to whom also He gave testimony, and said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, which shall fulfil all My will.”   

    1 Kings 15:

    3 And he [Jeroboam] walked in all the sins of his father [Nebat], which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father [ancestor]. 4 Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem: 5 because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that He commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.  

    The position of the high priest:  Aug 2011

    Why wasn’t Moses given the job of being high priest?  Because he was too close to his “Friend”, and couldn’t play-act the role!  It needed someone with less of a connection to God to be able to do this.  The earthly sanctuary/temple, although based on the one in heaven, was only a “shadow” of the original, and the priests who worked in it were merely demonstrating what the Son of God was really doing.

    The “restoring” of the heavenly sanctuary which began in October 1844 is actually the preparation for the lifting of the burden that our forgiving and cleansing Saviour has been bearing since sin began.  It involves the checking of the records to see who has (and who has not) retained their new heart.  This is for the benefit of the people of the universe, for God knows already, but they need to be assured that those who come up in the first resurrection are going to fit into their society, and remain that way for eternity.

    So what we need to do now is look at the services of the earthly sanctuary and ask the Spirit to translate them into terms of the NEW covenant (the new set of rules) – in other words, to take the physical and general and make it spiritual and specific.

    Politics and the Christian: Nov 2000

    Politics is Satan's way of ruling this world. Because Christians are foreigners in this world, ambassadors for heaven, they cannot take an active part in its system.

    Although we must obey the rules of the community in which we live, we are not to take any part in framing them or in the selection of men and women who do it, for God's kingdom works from a different base. Christianity works by freeing men and women from their natures and forgiving them for their sins - the world (both secular and religious) works by suppressing the natures and punishing the crimes - and never can the two harmonise.

    A Christian trying to set up laws on the worldly system would face an overwhelming conflict of interest because of its reliance on the use of force to gain its control, and a worldling trying to fit in with Christian principles would find it impossible because he cannot "turn the other cheek".

    The Christian race: Apr 2017

    Our position in the Christian “race” is determined by the progress we make in coming close to God after our conversion  [as we are sanctified`], and the “race” is brought about by the fact that from that moment on we are subject to many diversions between temptations and mistakes, and are killing ourselves off by our living habits. 

     So the race is to decide where in the scheme of things we belong when we die.

    Power to healJun 1999

    Power to heal is not conferred on disciples at some point in their life, and then used when needed. It is a talent directly based on the word of God and therefore can only be exercised when the word is spoken. While teaching the gospel, it is possible to hear the Spirit say, "Heal this person" and there and then accept the power of that word and pass it on.

    This means to pray expecting an answer, not because we are good, but because we can find out from God how to change and not hinder His promise. 1 Thessalonians 5:23.

    Prayer to move God's arm: Mar 2000

    We can move God's arm:-

    1. when we pray on behalf of others;

    2. when we can claim one of His promises;

    3. when we stand in conscious innocence before Him.


    We will NOT get answers when we:-

    1. Accuse God of not caring as much as we do.

    2. When we ask for ourselves alone.

    3. Think we will be heard for our quantity of prayers.

    Predestinated?  Yes!  For “he that is unjust, let him be unjust still . . .  and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still”.  Revelation 22:11.  God may warn you of impending disaster if you have sinned, but the choice of either of two ways is still yours; you can change the word of God as David did.  Then, if we have chosen to follow the LORD, He has guaranteed that He will never let us go, and we will be “holy and without blemish” in His sight!

     Prayers for others: Oct 2000

    All may approach our loving Father for themselves. This is one of the things that Jesus did for us while on earth. He removed the partition of human intervention and replaced it with the original one where we can boldly approach the everlasting God through Him. We have no need for others to intercede for us UNLESS we are helpless.

    Prayer and faith are closely allied, and they need to be studied together. In the prayer of faith there is a divine science; it is a science that everyone who would make his or her lifework a success must understand. Christ says, "What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them." Mark 11:24.

    He makes it plain that our asking must be according to God's will; we must ask for the things that He has promised, and whatever we receive must be used in doing His will. The conditions met, the promise is sure.

    Prayer for others (second version):  Feb 2019

    We cannot give extra power to an already Almighty God!  Our mission is to educate each other.  God is doing all He can, all the time, even for those whom we might consider lost.  What more can He do?  Isaiah 5:1-4.  What more can we do?  Ask, and see!

    Presumption versus faith  Oct 2004
    The difference between faith and presumption is simply the difference between “knowing” and “presuming” that what we are doing is right.  And how can we know?  Only by using the word of God in its right place, as Jesus did.  Saying “It is written  . . .” followed by the promise or statement that the Spirit tells us fits the situation.

    Since the sacrifice at Calvary we do not offer animal sacrifices for we do not have physical priesthood, but as Christians we are expected to have something to offer.  As Peter told us, we are members of the spiritual house, a holy priesthood.  Paul explains:- 


    Hebrews 13:

    9 Be not carried about with divers [different] and strange doctrines.  For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats [ceremonial meals], which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

    10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the [earthly] tabernacle. 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12   Wherefore [for this reason] Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore to Him without the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

    15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. 16 But to do good and to communicate [share] forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.


     So here in our "believers' priesthood" we learn to offer that which we will continue to do in the new world in the Melchisedec priesthood.

    Private Interpretation of the Bible:  Dec 08

    The Word of God is its own dictionary. What does this mean? It means that whenever we come to any key words describing divine behavior, such as the wrath of God, God destroying, God sending plagues, or God dealing with the wicked in everlasting fire, we do not simply accept the long held understandings of those words. The traditional understanding of those words has been developed by our association with human behavior and our knowledge of the dictionary meaning of those words, and hence cannot explain God's actions.

    Instead, we search in the Word of God for the meaning of those terms. There may be times when the Word of God and the dictionary will provide the same definitions, but most of the time they will give very different meanings indeed. This is inevitable, for the ways of God are so very different from the ways of men.

    Prophecies of Daniel 12Jul 2003

    The prophecies of Daniel 12 relate to events which have already passed, but can have another application in the future.  They began in history when an "abomination" (in God's sight) was set up, and therefore we can expect another "abomination"  in the future.

    Purpose of rituals: Jan 2001

    One of these was to show that the offerer believed that the Son of God had already died to save him from internal sin, and that he himself was pictured as being "dead" with Him. Thus the whole of the gospel was shown in the simple act of burning the body of an animal without its skin.

Thus the whole of the sanctification of the gospel was shown in the simple act of killing an animal after confessing the action of sin onto its head, and watching the priest eat some of its flesh. In this way they "fulfilled all righteousness". Matthew 3:15.

    Righteousness "by faith". This much abused phrase simply means that the follower of God does the right thing by faith in His word. "Righteousness" is defined as "right-doing" (Deuteronomy 6:24-25; Acts 10:34-35; etc.)

    1 John 3:7

    Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.

    In the times of the tabernacle and temple it was shown by observing the rituals with faith in Christ's word as a foundation. Today it is shown by baptism and the Lord's supper with faith in Christ's word as the foundation.

    Purpose of rituals Pt 3: Mar 2001

    There are three main reasons for animal sacrifices.

    The third of these was to show that the offerer believed that the Son of God would not only exchange lives with him, and then forgive him or her for any and every action of sin which they repented of, but also totally remove THE RESULT of their sins (death) from them and place them on Satan. 1 Corinthians 15:26.

    Thus the final act of the gospel was shown by the simple act of watching the high priest separate the two goats, and then following him "by faith" as he went into the building (they couldn't see or hear him in there) to pick up the "deaths" there recorded. If they were watching carefully they would see the "hands" of their mediator on the head of the scapegoat, but for many of them it would be his return in full uniform which told them it was all over.

    To say that the 144,000 and the great multitude which cannot be numbered are descriptions of the same group is to show a lamentable lack of understanding the fundamental principle of the whole controversy.  Redemption is NOT just based on the LORD’s great sacrifice, but ALSO on His ability to be able to produce some representatives who will prove that, as ordinary redeemed Christians, they can do extraordinary things without Him!

    It is for that demonstration (by volunteers) that He is waiting. “For the earnest expectation of the creature [all of creation] waits for the manifestation [revealing] of the sons of God”.  Romans 8:19. 

    Reading Revelation 13:  Aug 2021

    One of the cardinal points of reading the book of Revelation is that its prophecies can be understood in three ways.  The past, the present and the future.  Written about 90AD it was designed to help God’s people from the beginning to the end of the Christian era to establish their place in the great scheme of things.  And the usual mistake is to mix the views as you read. These are not three conflicting interpretations – all three are right – in their place. 

    My solution is that you settle in your mind into WHICH view you want to investigate BEFORE you begin to read the chapter.  Then you will find it much easier to follow the Spirit’s leading as He guides you.

    The rebirth  Oct 2013
    Only after this ritual of the passover could such a “righteous” person approach the sanctuary building to confess and be cleansed of subsequent actions of sin.  Only after a REMOVAL of the power of sin and in INFILLING of the power of the Son of God can a CHRISTIAN approach their High Priest in the prayer of confession.

    "Redemption" points forward to the time when the saints are resurrected into new bodies and Christ becomes the possessor of His purchase.

    The word “redemption” in another verse points forward to the time when the saints are to be resurrected into new bodies and Christ becomes the possessor of His purchase, but it also includes the restoring of the world back into its Edenic beauty.

    Red Heifer:  Nov 2016

    There is a contamination that comes with just having our sin-affected bodies, which is added to by our actions.  The rite of baptism shows us how we can be rid of all the past effects of it, but we also require an occasional sprinkling to keep us “clean” as we progress in our Christian walk.  Today, this is catered for by the ritual of feet-washing as shown in John chapter 13, for this leaves us “clean” in God’s sight, and not just forgiven.

         John 13:

    7 Jesus answered and said to him [Peter], “What I do you know not now; but you shall know hereafter”. 

     8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet”. [That’s a servant’s job.]  Jesus answered him, “If I wash you not, you have no [further] part with Me”. 9 Simon Peter says to Him, “LORD, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head”. [Like a baptism.] 10 Jesus says to him, “He that is [already] washed needs not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit [all over again]: and you are clean, but not all”. 11 For He knew who should betray Him; therefore said He, “You are not all clean”.

    This glorious Being loved the poor sinner and took upon Himself the form of a servant, that He might [be seen to] suffer and die in man's behalf.  Jesus might have remained at His Father's right hand, wearing His kingly crown and royal robes [even when He was our Saviour, for He did not take human form for 4,000 years after Adam’s sin].  But He chose to exchange all the riches, honor, and glory of heaven for the poverty of humanity, and His station of high command for the horrors of Gethsemane and the humiliation and agony of Calvary.  He became a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, that by His baptism of suffering and blood He might purify and redeem a guilty world. [So that we, and the people of the universe, might be able to see what sin does.] 

     “Lo, I come,” was the joyful assent, “to do Thy will, O My God.”   

    It is written of the last generation: “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD [without dying]?  Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek Him, that seek Your face, O [God of] Jacob. Selah.”  Psalm 24:3-6.


    This theory is not sustained by the words or actions of Jesus. See John 5:25-29. Also Hebrews 9:27.

    The removal of sins (from Christ) May 2008

    The real Day of Atonement will deal with the deaths associated with the sins committed by Christians, but their past lives will be held forever by the Son of God as part of the deal He made with them regarding conversion.  So when He appears the second time without sin, it is because He has been cleared of the deaths for actions of sin.  This lifts a great load from Him, but He remains as our Saviour for all eternity.

    Religious Titles in the churches  Aug 2003

    "But all their works they do for to be seen of men." This is how Jesus summed it up. The "clergy" have always been tainted with this principle by the very nature of their calling. When men and women separate themselves to be "bosses" in the church then they take the place of God and in their minds see no reason why they cannot bear His name. Commencing with the respect offered to them by those they consider to be the less favoured of the church, it soon progresses to the point where they "demand" the right to superiority. If we bow to this authority then we stand convicted of sin! (James 2:9 above.)

    The PURPOSE of the resurrection   Mar 2007
    There are two physical resurrections mentioned in the Bible, 1,000 years apart.  The first is to re-create those who accepted the Son of God’s sacrifice; the second is for those who rejected His offer.  After that, all will face the Son of God to understand their situation.  Matthew 25:31-46.

    The FIRST resurrection:   Oct 2001

    In the book of Revelation chapter 20 verse 5 it is written:

     “… the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”

    This plainly says that this is the FIRST resurrection. Giving us a definite point of time. If we can determine when or if a mass opening of the graves and people coming out of the graves occurs or has occurred, then we would be able to line this verse and all following and preceding verses in an identifiable time frame.

    So using scriptural or historical evidence, can you help me pinpoint in time, the FIRST resurrection?


    The timing of the first resurrection of Revelation 20 is connected with the second advent.  As no man can forecast the time of Jesus' coming we cannot know the time of the resurrection either.  But we should be continually prepared each moment now so that if we die we can be in the first resurrection and not the second.

    This resurrection is not called "first" because of its position in history (it is actually the 11th), but because it is the most important one of all - it is FIRST (foremost) in degree.  It is the one in which the majority of Christians will participate.

    RESURRECTIONS 1: Jul 1998

    The God of life wants to have His children alive and enjoying His gift. John 10:10; Romans 6:23. Through Jesus He has been calling on them every day to "come out" of Satan's prison house, but few have responded in faith. However, near the end of time, there will be a change in the attitude of the righteous dead and they will be prepared to join with the living and rise with them to meet Jesus in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:17. Before this, there will be a "special" resurrection composed of those who love Him greatly and those who fear Him greatly. Daniel 12:1-2.

    Why die? Or if you must, why stay dead?


    John 5:25. Resurrections occur when the sleeping dead are willing to hear the voice of the Son of God. Because of His loving nature, our Saviour will not force His presence on those who are not ready for Him. He will wait for their decision.

    Repeating the three angels' messages: Apr 2009

    The majority of the people in the Laodicean church today are “lukewarm”, which means that they are sitting on the fence without the robe of righteousness and the Son of God is sick with worry over them.  What He would like to do is energise a few who will hold up the standard and call others to their side.  Then the three angels’ messages will go to all the world again, and He will be able to finish the work by cutting it short in righteousness.  So we should all be praying, “Here am I, LORD, send me”. 

    Sabbath versus sabbathJul 2000

    Apart from the weekly seventh-day Sabbath of the Ten Commandments, there were seven holy days spread throughout the year, which were also known as ceremonial sabbaths, or holy convocations. Leviticus 23:37-38. These special days shadowed forth coming events and after the crucifixion their job was done and they were no longer observed by God's people.

    Saint or sinner?: Jul 2001

    We may KNOW who we are by what we do!!! We who were once sinners by internal nature are now Christians by re-creation, and must reject God's advice and power if we want to sin. Those who keep "falling" (that's their word for it, for Adam "jumped"), and who make excuses for their behaviour, are showing that they have no power of choice.

    In God’s sight there is a great distinction between the righteous and the wicked.   One has a new heart while the other has retained his old one.   

    So the difference is man-made – not God’s. 


    1. Sanctification is the gift of being special to God. John 15:14-15.

    2. It can be done to people, places or things. When it is accepted by people, it turns them into saints. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:2.

    Sanctified at birth:  Nov 2011

    God knows ALL the combinations of egg and sperms that will be produced in any one act of fertilisation, and so He knows what the child will be like before it is conceived.  Then, after the connection, while it is developing in the womb, He endeavours to build a resistance to the effects of its ancestors’ sins so that when it is born and accepts His breath of life, it can choose His way.  So everyone is born under the gift of universal grace.  However, because of the horrific effects of sinful heredity, He is not often able to lead the individual any further (from faith to faith) before they die, separated from Him. 

    Paul wrote: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:  for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein [in it] is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just[ified one] shall live by faith”.  Romans 1:16-17.  

    Sanctuary in heavenMay 2016

    One purpose of the earthly sanctuary is to show us what is happening INSIDE the life of the Son of God. 

    And that has ALWAYS been the purpose of the sanctuary in heaven. 

    It was originally built to explain in physical terms the workings of the mind and heart of God to the people of the universe, and then when sin entered its rituals were expanded to include the dealings of God with actions of sin. 

    There is no physical blood involved in this, but what is happening in the LIFE of the Saviour is on show for those willing to be shown, and has been from the beginning.

    In 90AD Pergamos was literally the centre of Satanic sun worship through sacrifice and education and healing.  (Satan’s clergy had moved there after the Medes and Persians conquered Babylon in 539AD.)  But it was only a step in Satan’s plan, for he wanted the city of Rome to be the new centre of his religious arm.  The Christians in Pergamos were commended for their steadfastness in the face of special persecution.


    "Burnt" offerings and "sin" offerings serve two very different purposes. The first group are the grateful responses of one who has become a Christian through the pass over experience. The others are a duties imposed on Christians by the Spirit of God to enable them to actively carry out the wishes of their Saviour and stand before their fellowmen as object lessons of the power of the gospel.

    No matter how evil we as common humans have become, it is Christ's desire that we be set free from the evil nature within.  This is accomplished in a moment by His power and without any works of ours.  Our NEED is the great catalyst.  In this way we become Christians and are "justified".

    Then, Jesus desires that we go forth to our family and neighbours and tell them what has happened. That is our work and is called "sanctification".   Then our listeners will be able to see for themselves that God's promise of salvation does work!  And this may give them the impetus they need to ask for themselves.

    It is NOT the norm for us to go away from home to foreign countries unless we are specifically called to do so by the Spirit of God.  It is enough for us to work in our own neighbourhood.

    7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in His own power. 8 But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.”

    "Saying grace" is a tradition.  It has no foundation in the Bible – rather, we should thank God for His blessing of the food before us.  “And it came to pass, as He sat at meat [dinner] with them, He took bread, and blessed [thanked God for] it, and broke [it], and gave to them”. Luke 24:30.  Asking for grace is in the Bible, “saying” it is not.

    The scapegoat atonement:    Nov 2001

    The atonement that God makes by the scapegoat is NOT THE SAME as the ones made during the year, or on the Day of Atonement.  It is a cleansing and transfer, but one made of a death which has already occurred.  It is the reassigning of the ultimate wages of sin which belonged to the sinning Christians onto the originator of sin, Satan, through the mediation of Jesus Christ our High Priest.

    There is to be a "firstfruits" of God's efforts as He "harvests" His people from this world at the second coming.  They are described as 12,000 from every tribe of Israel (totaling 144,000), to show that every characteristic of human nature can be dedicated to God and kept pure.

    If we would stay loyal to the God of the Bible, we must accept His word that those systems are all part of the same family and draw attention to this before we can give the third angel’s message in its fullness.  What is that message?

    Revelation 14:

    9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

    11 And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.

    12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 

    The second_beast of Revelation 13:  Apr 2018

    Satan is going to work through the Protestant churches of the United States of America to compel the world to honour Sunday and disregard the LORD’s Sabbath on pain of death. 

    The ten crowns on the horns of the composite beast show that in the last days all the religious powers of the world, not just Christianity, will be used by Satan as the powers controlling the nations. 

    Horns are the weapons of animals and can inflict great damage!

    Here is the general picture:

            Daniel 7:

    21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints [three times],

                  and prevailed against them [twice]

    22 Until  [first time]

    the Ancient of days came [in 1844],   [after which it ceased for a time]

    and [until]  [second time]

    judgment was given to the saints of the most High [just before the second advent];                 [after which it ceased for a time]

    and [until]  [third time]

    the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom [soon after the third advent]                 [after which it ceased for all time]

    So the second beast of Revelation 13 is Catholicism resumed with a new face and name, and geographical position!

    The second judgment:  Nov 2014 

    It is not the length of time we labour but our willingness and fidelity in the work that makes it acceptable to God. In all our service a full surrender of self is demanded. The smallest duty done in sincerity and self-forgetfulness is more pleasing to God than the great work when marred with self-seeking. (The thief on the cross is a classic example of this: the only work he did was in the words he spoke to Christ! Luke 23:42. But look how that incident has brightened the lives of many Christians!)

    God looks to see how much of the spirit of Christ we cherish, and how much of the likeness of Christ our work reveals. He regards more the love and faithfulness with which we work than the amount we do. Only when selfishness is dead, when strife for supremacy is banished, when gratitude fills the heart, and love makes fragrant the life – it is only then that Christ is abiding in the soul, and we are recognized as labourers together with God.

    And that is what is missing from the rebels.

    We should never doubt that God wants us in His kingdom.  He allowed His Son to come to this earth as a baby, to handle all that Satan and his angels and wicked men could throw at Him, to show us that love.  Like a shepherd He has gone before us and is calling us to follow Him.  All we have to do is listen and obey and we are assured of a place in His fold.

    Should women speak in church:  Apr 2007

    It would seem from the above texts and comments that the women of Corinth were trying to dominate the meetings and speaking over their husbands.  So God’s advice to them (and others of like character) was that they should keep silent, have their discussions at home, and not act “shamefully”.  Verse 35.   Otherwise, women have as much right to speak and ask questions as the males, for "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus". Galatians 3:28.

    The Son of God says “Yes”. 

    If we come to Him every time we have a problem He will show us a way out, and our friends and neighbours will marvel at how we are saved.  Or if not, we can show how we can endure to death if necessary under the pressure (Revelation 12:11), and they might want to have that power too.  It was Stephen’s death that caught Paul’s attention.  (Acts 7.)  The three young friends of Daniel told that truth to the king and did not die.  (Daniel 3:16-18.)

    So the real answer to your problem (and it is ours too) is to teach the sick and old people as much as they can handle of a loving Saviour who will ease (but not stop) their infirmities, and that they should trust in Him for a resurrection.  We should not give them the false hope that they will be healed unless God tells us particularly to say that to an individual.

    Jesus [as a Child] was the fountain of healing mercy for the world; and through all those secluded years at Nazareth, His life flowed out in currents of sympathy and tenderness.  The aged, the sorrowing, and the sin-burdened, the children at play in their innocent joy, the little creatures of the groves, the patient beasts of burden, -- all were happier for His presence.  He whose word of power upheld the worlds would stoop to relieve a wounded bird.  There was nothing beneath His notice, nothing to which He disdained to minister.

    The tribulation is the last battle in the war when Satan will try to eliminate all the true Christians through religious laws made at the request of the false religions. 

    The sign of the Son of man is the slowly approaching cloud of angels who surround Jesus.  This cannot be counterfeited.  Its slow, measured, approach is a guarantee that the end has come!

    My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And [yet] if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous...

    God's desire for His children is sinlessness.

    But just as Adam allowed his love for his wife to overcome him and then chose to sin with her, so Christians often allow their love for sin to overcome them and then choose NOT to be saved. Of course, afterwards, we come to Jesus and cry for the RESULT of it, which we don't like! But rarely do we acknowledge that we wanted to do THAT thing at THAT time. Therefore we are not being honest with our Saviour and He cannot accept our prayer. If we want to be forgiven we must be more honest with our Maker.

    SLAIN LAMB, The: Apr 1998

    Jesus died in the Garden of Eden and also at Calvary. Revelation 13:8 and Mark 15:39. Two "deaths" are mentioned in the Bible for Him. One was His "death" as the Son of God and the other was the death as the Son of man. Both are vitally necessary in God's plan. One gives us the fact of redemption, the other shows the evidence of it.

    So the whole scene in The Revelation chapters 4 and 5 is a revelation of heaven as it will be one day.  The characters in it are shown in symbolic forms to illustrate their works and positions, and are not meant to be taken literally.

    It is not enough to show the world what God says through the three angels and their messages;  it is not enough to make a loud cry about the fourth one either; 

    what is needed for a complete message is ALL OF THE SEVEN so that those who hear may learn about God right to the end.

    The seven angels’ messages show us what the Spirit of God expects from His church during and after the final days of the Christian era, for the 1,000 years is a part of the Day of Atonement. 

    There are other ceremonies which follow the placing of the sins upon the head of the scapegoat.   See Leviticus 16:23-25; and consider Ezekiel 36:24-25 where it is written: “For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land [in the resurrection].   Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.   

    All the universe, but particularly the redeemed who were killed for their faith and died without forgiving their persecutors, will need to see for themselves the total rejection of Life by the rebels as they rush into the Lake of Fire, and so they ask for the second resurrection, because they now want to forgive them.   (But a good deed leads to a sad end, for to give light and mercy is to create the opportunity for darkness, and the martyrs will need to be cleansed from that!  See Isaiah 45:7.)

    Seven trumpets: Aug 2013

    The seven angels with the seven trumpets are first of all symbols of the seven periods of earth’s secular or political history from soon after Calvary through to the Second Advent.  As well, all of them are warnings of the events which will take place during the lead-up from the loud cry to the Coming.  Thus, if we have an ear to hear, and an eye to see, we will be able to know what the future holds for the world of today.

    God did NOT engage in a life and death struggle with the Pharaoh of Egypt so that His people could leave Egypt.  It was because Pharaoh (and his people) rejected God and His care that His protection had to be withdrawn at times, and the plagues came upon the nation.  God’s character is such that He is a Saviour ALL of the time, unless forcibly removed from that role by the deliberate choice of an individual human or nation.

    Special resurrection at Calvary:  Feb 2013 

    The special resurrection of those who had been martyred for the word of God was a kind of “first fruits” so that all the universe could see what the Son of God intends to do at the Second Coming.  Those who had died for Him “heard” His voice in victory over His death and resurrection, and responded through His power (there is life in His word), and came forth to greet and have fellowship with Him. 

    The other “Christians” who had died in the past could not have shared the same empathy, for they did not respond to the call as they will at the Advent.  (Even the time of our resurrection is our choice, for God has no favourites!)  

    “Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts”.  2 Chronicles 9:7.

    “But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: for there is no respect of persons with God [nor any compulsion]”.  Romans 2:10-11.


    1. To a religious person the standard set by the man Christ Jesus can appear to be irreligious. Matthew 15:1-9.

    2. Jesus is a Living Stone and His followers by being attached to Him also become "living stones". 1 Peter 2:5.

    3. It is often the rejected stone that becomes the head stone. John 19:15.


    What has God been telling us in these rituals?  That when we confess our sins today we should be asking for forgiveness on the basis of our relationship with Him, and admitting that we are an erring “wife”.  And that others around us may be aware of what we have done, and condemn us for them.  Because of His love for us as individuals, He will forgive us and take the penalty of their criticism upon Himself (as the bull).

    Then He needs to place the “death” into the depths of His heart and carry on with His work in the universe. 

    But one day it (and all the others He bears) will have to be dealt with publicly before the people of the village (the universe) who will then accept us into heaven as true citizens.  We call this the Judgment.


    1. Speaking in tongues is a gift of God given to make the international work of spreading the truth easier. It is the gift of using language that the listener understands. Acts 2:1-21.

    2. This is sustained by the words and actions of Jesus. He did everything a normal Christian should do and He spoke in "tongues" also. We call that "speaking in parables" today when we are talking to one of our own language. Matthew 13:1-53.

    Now we should be able to see a little more clearly what God the Son has had to deal with! 

    It is humanity which has to change, not the Godhead.  And more of humanity did accept the change after seeing Him “in the flesh”. 

    The Ten Horns of Daniel 7:  Sep 2015

    The ten “horns” of Daniel 7 which come before the Papacy cannot also be the ten “toes” which come after its reign.  When plants are “plucked up by the roots” they do not reappear in re-growth.  So the “toes” must represent something else, and that is described in Revelation 17.

    The ten toes of the statue of Daniel 2 are the same as the ten horns on the seven heads of the beast in Revelation 17, but they are NOT the same as the ten horns on the single head of the beast in Daniel chapter seven.

    This means that the ten toes of Daniel 2 and ten horns of Revelation 17 are pictures of the group of religious systems that join the political ones in the last days of history. However, the ten horns of Daniel 7 are pictures of the ten nations which occupied the area of Europe BEFORE the papacy arose in 538AD.

    “The church” as God set it up, is like a family and each “branch” is separate (like a brother or sister).  As in any family, there is a Father in charge, and the siblings are all equal (Matthew 23:8), with, of course, the usual deference to the firstborn, for it is written, “And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Sanctify to Me all the firstborn, whatsoever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is Mine”.  Exodus 13:1-2. 

    It is good to get together for family meetings and have a discussion on how the LORD is leading.  And while we should have our own opinions, we shall also have a great respect for other’s opinions, while we recognise that there can often be more than one right way of seeing or doing things. 

    What we must avoid at all costs is having a “kingly” attitude, and with it a desire to control others in “the church”, for that can only lead to confusion.

    TEMPLE: (Tabernacle) Jun 1996

    1. A Christian saved by Jesus through grace. 1 Corinthians 3:16.

    2. A tent erected by Moses and the people as a meeting place with God. Exodus 33:7-11 and 25:8.

    3. The stone building Solomon erected to replace the cloth tabernacle. 1 Kings 6:1-38.

    4. A building in heaven which will one day be on earth. Revelation 21:2-3 and 3:12.

    The proposed new temple:  Nov 08

    The earthly temple and its services were used as an illustration of what God would like to do for us.  It was intended to hold the eye while the heart and mind worked them out.  The Son of God wanted to teach more of His principles and intentions and therefore gave the measurements and design of a new temple to Ezekiel for the exiles to build when they returned to Jerusalem.

    This is the method by which we grow in character and understanding. Temptation to behave illegally is NOT sin - giving in to it is! Overcoming temptation, or test, is uplifting.

    Overcoming can occur both BEFORE and AFTER an experience in sin. However, what God wants for us is that we should always overcome BEFOREHAND. That’s why He says, "Go, and sin no more." John 8:11.

    Temptation, then, can be a source of joy because it can show us what we want to respond to, and give us an experience in the power of our LORD which we might not have had apart from it.

    The Third Angel  Aug 2004

    The third angel’s message is a warning of the terrible times which lie ahead for the people of the world when the religious forces of this earth attack God’s church. Those whose lives are not hid in Christ will not be able to stand alone at that time and they will eventually give in to the "image of the beast." They will either wholeheartedly believe the lies or else accept that it is best to go along with the majority for their safety’s sake. Either way they will lose out, for Jesus has told us:


    Matthew 16:

    25 For whosoever will save his life [by his own efforts] shall lose it: and whosoever will lose [give up the responsibility for] his life for My sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.


    The Three Judgments: Mar 2005

    The judgment is really a three-part experience for the children of God. 

    For the first session their records are examined to see if they have accepted the new heart exchange.  This is done without their presence. 

    Then, in the second session they are given opportunity to examine the records of those whom they supposed would be with them in the new world.  Again, those being examined are not there in person.

    Then finally, the Son of man, because He is one of us, will personally inform the rejecters of what their decision means and allow them to have their way. “For as the Father has life in Himself; so has He given to the Son to have life in Himself; and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and [one thousand years later] they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.” John 5:26-29.

    Jesus was both Prophet and Priest while on earth.  But He was Prophet first BEFORE the crucifixion, and the Priesthood was added AFTER it on the day of the resurrection.  "THAT DAY" then was the day of the resurrection.

    In the same way, He will one day in the future be accepted as the King of the universe and every knee shall bow to Him again.  Romans 14:11.

    Being Righteous:  Jun 2012

    Whether a person is righteous or nor depends entirely on whether they have accepted the second birth.  With the change of heart comes the change of state.  So it is correct to say that none are righteous in the beginning, but it is also correct to say that some have become righteous later in life.  But only God can accurately define that condition so we must leave it to Him to proclaim it in the judgment.

    The kingdom of Greece is shown as the “belly” AND “thighs” in the prophecy of the statue because that is where Satan split his forces to be able to have a two-pronged approach to God’s people. Ever since then he has used both heathen and professed Christian to confuse spiritual Israel.

    This book is meant to be understood as applying today, but only as the events are either very near or even past, and then only under the immediate guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will make all things regarding Jesus very clear.

    It is the blood (life) of the Son of God (not the Son of man) which is being mentioned in the Bible.

    1 John 1:7-8.  

    “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son [His life] cleanses us from all sin [both past and present]. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”.

    The Revelation 1:5-6.  

    “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.  Amen”. 

    The "body" of Christ:  Nov 2012

    We should now be able to see that the "body of Christ" is one of the pictures that God has used throughout history in order to turn our eyes to Jesus, the "author and finisher" of our faith. Then we need to listen to the Spirit and look further than the picture of the Son of man to the reality which is what the Son of God has done.

    Because of the lack of this we have mixed up the doctrines of justification by faith and living by faith in our minds, we are confused.  Justification (just as if we have not sinned) is given as a gift when we “die” with Christ the Son of God and are reborn to a new life with Him, and righteousness (right doing) is something we do as we walk with Him in sanctification.

    The difference was opposed in 1888, and masterly efforts have been made since then through opposition and denunciation by the formal church leaders, whose attitude is of a character to discourage integrity and faithfulness and good works and support entertainment in the form of religious activity.

    And the result is just as it was in Christ’s day – a church in the Laodicean condition.


    "I say to you today, You shall be with Me in Paradise."

    Christ did not promise that the thief should be with Him in Paradise that day (Friday) for He Himself did not go that day to Paradise. He "slept" in the tomb, until the morning of the resurrection (Sunday). That morning He said, "I am not yet ascended to My Father." John 20:17.

    Transfer of sin: Dec 2012

    The really great mistake that professed Christians have made was when they began to look upon the human (animal) sacrifice as the reality instead of a picture!

    In other words the majority of them have been, and are being, taught and think that their salvation comes through the offering of a Substitute for their sinful lives on the cross at Calvary. In this they are being lied to, and believing the lie. In the “spiritual” version they are being taught that the “Christians” of the Old Testament just had to look forward to the event of Calvary while all they have to do is to look back at it and believe!  It is often called “Righteousness by faith” (this phrase is not in the Bible with that meaning) which means that their “righteousness” through Christ (right-doing) is not factual.  This is a very clever counterfeit, in that it leaves the believer with what they think is “imputed” righteousness, a covering for their sinfulness, but it fails because it has no “imparted” infilling base to work on.

    TRINITY GOD - A trinity? Jan 1999

    In the Bible there are three Persons who can be called God. Each one has His own work and position, and we can honour them by recognising that work and addressing them as required. They are not the same person, for "The LORD our God is one LORD" as it is written.

    Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

    We can ask the Spirit for comfort and guidance and knowledge of the truth.

    We can ask the Son for forgiveness and cleansing from sin.

    We can thank the Father for love and mercy.

    The teaching of early Christianity is that the church and its rituals can be useful, but is not necessary.  The WHOLE system which exists today, from buildings to the separation of clergy and laity, has been added in by men, for we are told that under grace EVERY Christian is a priest and therefore able to approach God directly without the need of externals.

    Thus it is written:

    1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers [the Gentile Christians] scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace, be multiplied . . . 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time [the last days] . . .

    18 Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold [or any works], from your vain conversation [conduct] received by tradition from your fathers; 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you . . . this is the word which by the gospel is preached to you.  

    Chapter 2:

     . . . 4 To whom coming, as to a living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 you also, as lively [living] stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. . . .

    9 You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: 10 which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

    A final word of caution:

    “Be not carried about with divers [different] and strange doctrines [make up your own mind from the Bible].  For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats [foods], which have not profited them that have been occupied therein [for that which is called “Health Reform” can become a hindrance]. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which [continue to] serve the [earthly] tabernacle.  For the bodies of those beasts [the bullock and the goat], whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin [on the Day of Atonement], are burned without [outside] the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify [ALL] the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore to Him without [outside] the camp, bearing His reproach.  For here have we no continuing city [or centre of worship like Jerusalem], but we seek one to come [the NEW Jerusalem]. By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. But to do good and to communicate [share with others] forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule [guidance] over you [the older Christians], and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy [seeing you do the right thing], and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”.  Hebrews 13:9-17.

    Salvation, like redemption, is the gift of God.  Jesus used the circumstances of Rebekah’s twins to illustrate the two kinds of humans.  Before they had done anything in the world, good or bad, He pronounced that one child would terrorise the other at first, but eventually the younger would prevail.

    This came about because one accepted His offer while the other rejected it and joined the opposition.  So, a real life situation was used to proclaim the truth to the world that we as individuals decide our own destiny.

    When Jesus said we should "Walk in the day" He was advising us to listen and obey ALL THE TIME.  Every time we do our own thing we are, in effect, walking in darkness and are sure to make a mistake.  If we do God's bidding, we shall live eventful and fruitful lives, not necessarily seen as such here on earth, but recorded that way in God's book. It need not mean great worldly success (Jesus ended up on a cross) but it does mean that we shall do what God wants and further His work, not hinder it.

    Our Saviour has experienced both the first and the second death.

    It was as the Son of man that He died the first death at Calvary.  That lasted for six hours.  This was illustrate to our slow minds what was (and is) actually happening to Him as the Son of God and what will happen to those who experience the first death, for even the rejecters will be resurrected from that.

    It is as the Son of God that He “dies” for those who accept His gift by giving them a portion of His life when they become converted with “a new heart”.  This has lasted already for some six thousand years.  Thus all Christians, from the righteous Abel to the last sinner who accepts salvation, are saved from the second death in the same way, but He must bear that for them for eternity.

    There is no conflict between being “justified” without the deeds of the law when we become Christians (for that life is “dead”), and being “justified” again at the end of our Christian walk, for in normal circumstances we will then be physically dead and awaiting the resurrection.  They are the same word with two similar but different connotations.

    To understand the Bible we must “hunger and thirst” after righteousness.  Matthew 5:6.  We must not be content with a superficial explanation, or one which appears to contradict (in any way) some truth we have accepted from the Spirit in the past.  Don’t misunderstand me here; we will not reject any new idea because it seems to be different, until we have laid both of them (the old and the new) side by side in our minds and pleaded with the Spirit to either show which is the truth or to harmonise them.  And this means that we will not accept or reject unless we are sure that He has given us the answer.

    A prophet is a person, male or female, young or old, rich or poor, educated or ignorant, who is willing to listen to the Son of God and pass on His messages of help and warning to those to whom he or she is sent.  The messages they bring are sometimes very plain and easy to understand, but often they are couched in figurative language or scene so that the enquirer must co-operate prayerfully with the Spirit of God in order to comprehend the depths of the message.  This is particularly so in regards to prophecies dealing with future events. 

    Often a prophet did not understand the message he was giving very clearly because it was intended for future listeners who had experienced some events which made sense of the message.

    A “prodigal” son is one who has been re-born into the family of God, but rewards His Father by demanding all the benefits now so that he or she may use them here on earth for his own benefit.  God is like the father in the story and will not withhold them, but warns us that this kind of behaviour is dangerous, for we may not want to come back!!

    This leaves us with the conclusion that tares are a necessary part of God’s plan to stabilise the universe forever.  So when you see or hear what you think is a “tare” (or a heretic) you should know what to do about it.  It is the Son of God’s field and He says [leave them      alone . . .]!! 

    All we have to do is spread abroad the truth as we know it.

    THE WEDDING: May 1998

    The wedding commences in heaven before the second coming, and partway through Jesus will leave His Father's house and come to the earth to collect His people. He wants us to be aware of this fact and therefore He is saying that we can know when it has begun. "All things are ready", He cries, "Come to the marriage". Matthew 22:4. When He says, "He will return from the wedding" Luke 12:36, and urges us to be ready to move, it means we are to go somewhere with Him. After the resurrection of the Christians who have died, He will return to heaven with them for the remainder of the ceremonies, one of which is a great banquet. John 14:1-4.


    "Wheels within wheels" is a Biblical way of describing the actions made by the people of God under the instruction of angels and the Holy Spirit.


    Where do we go when we die? Into a grave for a long sleep. We do not possess an immortal soul, therefore we cannot go into either heaven or hell. (The word "hell" normally means the grave in the Bible). The words "immortal" and "soul" are NEVER used together in the Bible.

    We should treat the church today as we would treat a tennis club.  A great place to be for socialising and learning, where we need to obey certain local rules (1 Corinthians 11:16) and wear a certain uniform (the Sabbath), including soft shoes (tact and courtesy), so that we don’t damage the court (their ideas) or upset the other players.  But to recognise that God is with us we just need a quiet place and His word.

    A church is like a tennis club, with its own uniform of dress and rules, and if we join one then we are expected to conform to those unless they clash with God’s laws, and they have a right to be upset if we do not. (It is different when we live in the crossover period of two dispensations.)

    What we have seen in these few quotes is the fact that beside us is the reality of what science fiction writers call, “An Alternate Universe”.  Although we do not recognise them for what they are, both loyal and rebel angels walk beside us every day, for the rebels live here on earth!!  How they do that or what they eat we are not told, but that they are here permanently is certain.

    Would we recognise one if we saw him?  Good or bad?  Probably not.  They are well disguised, for we must make our choices on right principles, not appearances.

    Where was Adam?  Left behind while Eve did her own thing.  The Bible is written from two angles so that we may choose either, and still think we are following it – but only one can be right.  Either God is a fiercesome Person who delights in tormenting His creatures, or He is not!  If He is not, and is instead a “Father” who “delights” in His children (Proverbs 8:30-31), then we should delight in Him and allow Him to guide us.

    There is a “flip side” to the sacrifice the Son of God has made for us.  Most of us only think of the salvation face, but there is also the losing part.  When the great controversy is over He will have lost one third of His angelic host and a much greater percentage of His human family.  Gog and Magog are the symbols of that loss.  What a sad day that will be!

    The ceremonialism of the Jewish dispensation is no longer required in this dispensation. It had its purpose in detailing the life and death of the Son of man, and in showing us the many facets of salvation, sanctification and redemption. But now all our emphasis should be on the Son of God and His work in heaven.

    Paul’s words have a place here, for today we are between the Jewish "childhood" and the redeemed "adulthood" – we are spiritual "teenagers." "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abides faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity [a special kind of Godly love]."  1 Corinthians 13:11-13.

    In Genesis 5:1 we are told, "This is the book of the generations of Adam." If we comprehend correctly what these words mean then we have a great key to understanding this first book of the Bible.

    "This is the book" refers to the preceding words of the Bible, in this case chapters 2 to 4, because the authors of those days put their signatures at the end of the script, not at the beginning as we would do today. All the early sections of Genesis are written this way. See 2:4 for the Son of God; 5:1 for Adam; 6:9 for Noah; 10:1 for Noah’s sons; 11:10 for Shem; 11:27 for Terah etc. "Of the generations [beginnings]" tells us the subject of the book, which is about Adam’s first experiences. The words "of Adam" tell us who wrote the story. This way of doing things is not out of order for those who today still write from right to left, the opposite to us.

    Why did Elijah run?  He had seen “the beast” at work in the slaughter of the prophets, and was filled with self-loathing, for he had been a part of it.  (The “beast” is made up by the actions of unrestrained unregenerate sinners (e.g. the mob mentality), or even those of misguided Christians.  Later he knew that he had had the zeal of a Jehu.)

    Poor God!  He who is mercy and love was being shown as nothing more than a cold-blooded murderer by His own people!

    Because of this characteristic of sin, it is not possible to eliminate its results quickly.  For instance, the destruction of Satan and the angel rebels at the beginning would not have solved the problem, because with the goodness that God has made there is a shadow of badness!!  That is, there exists a possibility of reversal for every positive action in every creature, and each must be allowed to show its choice.

    The plan of redemption is designed to counteract that possibility and is heading for a time when He will be able to get all His people to obey Him.

        Nahum 1:

    7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knows them that trust in Him. 8 But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue His enemies. 

    9 What do you imagine against the LORD?  He will make an utter [complete and lasting] end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. 

    Why animals as sacrifices?  April 2002

    Why animal sacrifices?  Because it was important that the offerer recognised the fact that the "will" of God cannot be put into effect until AFTER the death of the maker of the will.  Hebrews 9:16-17.  The blood of the animal served as notice that they understood that the Son of God had already "died" for them.  The body was burnt completely, but the skin was used as a covering to show the nature of salvation.  It is by virtue of the covering of righteousness supplied by our Saviour that we can live in this world of sin.  Job 29:14; Isaiah 61:10.

    The Old Testament "proof" was the blood of an animal.  The New Testament "proof" is that of a human body at Calvary. But the reality is that the death of the Son of God is a continuous one.  Although finished for those who are "born again", it has not yet begun for those who may still choose.

    Unfortunately, to many this truth has been obscured by Satan.

    In answer to the original question, it does require a God to save us, not as a payment, but as a Friend and He does that because He loves us.  It was love and mercy that caused the Godhead to formulate their plan.

    Why have a sanctuary/temple?  Oct 2012

    The symbols, the death of one lamb in the Garden of Eden for each individual (shown by the skin, Genesis 3:21); the burnt offerings of the patriarchs over the centuries; the Passover lamb each year; the multitude of animal sacrifices added from the exodus through to Calvary; AND the “serpent on the pole” at Calvary (John 3:14), are ALL figures of the true – the “death” of the Son of God since the foundation of the world.  It is a continuing sacrifice which will not be finished until the “sons of God” come into their own in the eyes of the universe.

    “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  For the earnest expectation of the creature [the created universe] waits for the manifestation of the sons of God . . . For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit [the “first” robe], even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption [resurrection] of our body”.   Romans  8:18-23.

    Because this is God’s will and you try to do it in His strength, then He will honour that attempt and so arrange it that you can work and have Sabbath off as well!  I don’t know how He will do that in your case but I am certain that He will.  When I first became a Sabbath-keeper I was working Friday night and all Saturday at a part-time job because we had five children to bring up.  That job gave us nearly half our wages!  But we stepped out in faith and I can honestly say that I have never been without enough money to live on at any time since.  There have been poor times but never destitute ones. 

    So ask God what you should do and then follow His leading in faith that He will provide for you.

    Although Christ was crucified under the urging of Satan, it was really the Son of God’s choice to die.  He said, “Therefore does My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. No man takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.  This commandment have I received of My Father.”  John 10:17-18.

    In this way He defeated Satan at his own game, because He came back from the dead.  “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God, (which He had promised afore by His prophets in the holy scriptures,) concerning His Son Jesus Christ our LORD, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”  Romans 1:1-4.

    He has since gone to heaven and is working there while the Spirit is in control of the earth.

    Verses 6 and 14 in Revelation 12 describe two things which are called by the same name, but which are different!  The persecution is the same, but the people and time are different.

    It would seem from the above texts and comments that the women of Corinth were trying to dominate the meetings and speaking over their husbands.  So God’s advice to them (and others of like character) was that they should keep silent, have their discussions at home, and not act “shamefully”.  Verse 35.   Otherwise, women have every right to speak out as equals, because in God there is "neither male nor female", but only Christian.
