Hebrews 8:5

.... Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, said He, that you make all things according to the pattern showed to you in the mount.

The real pattern is:

Exodus 34:6-7

And the LORD passed by before him [Moses], and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty...

Exodus 28:29

And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goes in to the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

God was in a small place, and even that was screened off from most of the people, including the priests who did the daily ministrations. Entry was only by one way, and that was for the high priest on one day a year!

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me.

The sanctuary

Dimensions: 10 cubits wide x 30 cubits long x 10 cubits high = 15ft x 45ft x 15ft

or approximately 5m wide x 15m long x 5m high. The most holy was a cube.

And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore [60] cubits [about 90ft], and the breadth thereof twenty cubits [about 30ft], and the height thereof thirty cubits [about 45ft]. The second room was no longer a cube.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple [the first room] and of the oracle [the second room]: and he made chambers round about....

Below is a plan of Solomon's temple showing how much more elaborate it was than the tabernacle of the wilderness wandering.
